But Manti supposedly met up with her in Hawaii when he was HOME from school. So the dad wants us to believe that he thought Manti always met her outside of his home, went on dates, but never brought her over to meet the parents? Not once when they saw each other in Hawaii did the parents think to say "why don't we cook dinner tonight, and invite your girlfriend."

I watched the movie a few years ago, I don't remember much but I remember coming away thinking that shite it fake....Mockumentary, ala Exit Through the Gift Shop and I've never watched the t.v. show as everything on MTV is complete and udder garbage.
I listened to an NPR piece recently that said pretty much EVERY SINGLE reality show is 100% fake. Like the director is crouched under the counter on Pawn Stars fake...

This only means the dad wasn't in on it. But it underscores that Manti was b/c he told his dad they met in Hawaii and at Stanford. This proves Manti was not duped. He was in on it.
