Dude, you sound like you never watch Nascar.

quote:

Plain and simple she had the fastest car of the week.

You need a partner to win at the plate tracks. Her car's speed by itself doesn't match 2 cars speed.

quote:

Best car suppose to win.

If that was true, they would just have practice and qualifying then declare a winner. The fastest car loses more often than not, especially at Daytona and Dega because single car speed means dick.

Option A: get out of line and drop like a rock with her "fast" car and finish +15

Option B: get in front of JR's run and take out the rest of the field

Exactly. The pendulum has swung toward the mechanical side of racing in the last 20 years, but if the mechanical alone won races, no one would be making millions driving the cars. Even then, the best "driver" isn't always the winner.

Anyone who's familiar with cycling and restrictor-plate auto racing understands that in these two sports, drafting means everything.

In road racing, talent is more important than equipemnt and tactics but in restrictor plate racing, the opposite is true.

So the entire time Johnson had momentum? I really don't blame Danica but I do her spotter.

Johnson would have gotten to second place.

In a race like this it should win. She should have been pushing others much harder but she wasn't. Nothing going on the entire race except at the end. She had plenty of chances after first and second cautions for 2 cars to break away. Her bring one of them. She chose to race conservative. That never wins. Nobody is going to care about her top 10 but if she won or made a push more would respect her finish.

I kind of wish that Danica had went for it on the last lap just so we could see how some clever sports writer might have titled their write-up of the race.

"15 Men Run A Train On Danica At Daytona"

Danica didn't do anything special but ride the race out. Didn't want to frick up at the end.

On SPEED Victory Lane they just played radio of Danica when Jr passed before the caution, they told her:"You keep blocking Dale and if you keep doing it he's going to take you out"

Hahahaha
