God damnit man. Inexcusable for a big league pitcher to spray fastballs like that in an event like this. I’m fricking raging

We all know it's Dubon's leadoff spot to lose. We all know.

Outside of Dusty doing something stupid like leading off Dubon to keep everybody else locked in the same slot, I'm not sure what the lineup looks like. Keeping in mind Brantley won't be active to start the season. Other than Altuve, last year's leadoff men were...

Pena: 8 starts
Chas: 8 starts
Dubon: 4 starts
Siri: 4 starts

We've essentially got the top 2 spots to fill as Dusty has already said Brantley would hit 2nd when he gets back, so who hits there in the interim? Pena hit 2nd to some success after Brantleys injury and starred in the post season so you figure he's 2nd. That leaves Chas, Meyers/Dirden or Dubon.

Chas
Pena
Bregman
Yed
Abreu
Tuck
Meyers
Dubon
Maldy

Trying to guess what Stoner Supreme will do with the lineup is like guessing winning lotto numbers.

That said, Pena should bat leadoff most of the time with Tuve out. We know Uncle Mike bats 2nd when he arrives. Until then, Bregman-Yed-Abreu-Ted in the 2 through 5 spots would make the most sense...but again, making sense...

I think Hensley gets the starts at 2nd

But regardless, WBC is stupid wrestling exhibition bullshite

Same thing I said when it happened to Diaz and the Mets

I won’t be shocked if he starts the season on the IL.

“That’s the plan” was what they said about him being ready for opening day, but I never trust any encouraging statements the Astros make about injuries.

Would be ideal. Just don't think Dusty hands a starting gig to a unknown rookie. He'll default to Dubon and Hensley will have to earn more ABs. How long did he waffle between the horribly scuffling Mancini and Diaz before he tried Hensley in the playoffs?

Meh. If he wasn't at the WBC, he'd be in spring games getting ABs where he could just as easily get hit by a pitch. It's a risk in every AB.

Time to remind ourselves how wonderful the 2022 postseason was. I’m going to try to remember so I’m not blowing a gasket every time I see Mauricio Dubon at second and in the top part of the order.

Hensley is getting the start at 2nd today. That's either a positive outcome or Dusty is protecting Dubon. Either is possible.

I wouldn't mind that.

You know who's a free agent? Jonathan F. Villar. He can't kill what's already dead.

Just saw that. So since he's gonna need surgery now, how long we looking at? Still the 8-10 weeks or will it be longer?
