Q is under control for 4 more years at a ridiculous price compared to his true value. From what i've heard it's gonna take about 95% of the Sale package to get him.

Considering he reportedly can't get 3/60 right now, 4/80 seems excessive

Thank you, Kind Sir. I missed the news earlier because I am a bad fan.

8:34pm: The Astros did, in fact, talk to the White Sox about Quintana, but have found the White Sox’ price to be too steep, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle writes. Kaplan notes that it’s unclear whether the Astros would have to give up Bregman to get Quintana, but notes that he doesn’t want to part with players who could help the Astros next season. “We’re just not prepared to trade away players that are core to our production in 2017, and those are sometimes the players that are required to get these deals done,” says GM Jeff Luhnow.

If Luhnow has indeed made the best offer, leave it out there for them. They'll take it.

That trade proposal in the picture from MLB network. was that what the sox are asking for or what the astros are offering?

Surely it's what the astros are offering and the white sox are asking for more, right? Since reports are that the price for Q is too high.

Can anybody give me a quick recap of Jose Quintana and why he's such a good pitcher? His strengths and weaknesses? I know his stats look pretty good, but I've never actually seen him pitch in person.

Gives you 200 innings with a 3.20 to 3.40 ERA every year. He's only 27 years old with four more years of control at a low price.

Upvoted even though young dhav has no clue what that's from.

Quintana is also a LH with an all-star appearance last year. So there's that

May not be a perfect comparison but he seems very similar to Kuechel, especially in the sense of not being a flamethrower

He throws harder than DK but they are fairly similar in that Quintana isn't going to overpower people.

The thing he has is a consistent year to year track record of success and durability.
