Obviously we're all talking about the loss of Hinch and Luhnow but ultimately, there's not a permanence to those punishments. We'll have a new GM and manager shortly.
More concerning is the loss of our first and second round draft picks thr next 2 years. That shite may set us back long term and its worth taking about how it impacts the direction of the team short term. Look at the current make up of the team
Correa 1st round pick
Bregman 1st round pick
Springer 1st round pick
Tucker 1st round pick
McCullers 1st round pick
Whitley 1st round pick
Verlander and Greinke- both acquired using 1st and 2nd round draft picks
From a talent standpoint, between big trades in recent years and lower draft positioning due to onfield success, our farm has taken a hit. Moving forward, we can't afford anymore blockbuster trades.
We're also at a crossroads the next 2 seasons as far as our free agents go. Greinke, Springer, Reddick, Brantley and Yuli are free agents after this year. Verlander and Correa are free agents after next year. I think theres gonna be strong consideration given to trading some of those guys ahead of free agency in an effort to offset the long term damage the loss of those draft picks will do.
Correa is a 100% lock to be traded at this point. :

Trade grienke at deadline and Correa now.

People have consecutive first round picks that amount to nothing frequently. Luhnow was a master at finding those diamonds in the rough. I truly hope he has someone underneath him who can carry on whatever magical analytical system was in place.

Morosi on MLB Radio basically calling Ludlow a liar. I needed to turn on their puppet broadcast to hear the sweet, sweet propaganda.
Bunch of dishonest whores (broadcasters, reporters and former players) acting like they don't know about the rampant sign-stealing in MLB is high comedy.

Ludlow loaded, pointed and pulled the trigger on Cora.

Jeff Luhnow is a hero and a martyr

Was it 2017/2018 MLB sent the statement about sign stealing after Boston got caught against the Yankees. Part of this punishment is based on that previous warning and not following it.

One of these guys might actually put a hit out on Cora

I'm sure they totally stopped. For sure. Just like the Astros did when they were warned. Totally.

Don't melt
I'm not saying anyone stopped, maybe stopped doing some things but sign stealing is as old as the game. Just asking when that was as it may play a part in why they did the year long suspensions since they got caught after not stopping.

Not melting at all. I've just seen this act before. It's interesting being a Saints and Astros fan with the parallels on this bullshite. But fans will be complicit in it, believing what they want to believe and allowing truths to stay hidden.
Cheating in baseball is its greatest and most shared tradition. Santa Claus is not a real person. It's okay to accept both as reality.

I've been adamant that sign stealing is fine until you start using electronics. You pick up a tell from a picture use it, sitting on 2nd and see the signs relay it, using TV's, smart watches, etc not cool

But they're all doing it. Technology improves, cheating evolves. In 10 years, the problem will be gone. Coaches will be calling pitches in the dugout to pitchers and catchers with ear pieces. Strike zones will be electronic. People will moan and then accept it as reality. But new ways to cheat will emerge, too.
