I don't follow the "hot stove" stuff as closely as many of the rest of you, but I do see the rumblings in here and feel like they are pretty "informed" rumblings. That being said, what do you think the chances are, percent wise, that these guys return:

Keuchel
Marwin
Harris
Maldonado
Gattis
Sipp
Morton
McCann

I assume Sipp and Gattis are pretty close to 0% return. I also would assume that McCann has to just about be done altogether. Harris would seem to be an odd-man out of the bullpen.

The talk here seems to indicate that Keuchel is all but gone...is that a pretty safe bet?

The ones I would hate to lose most are Marwin and Morton. Does it seem likely that Marwin might want to go somewhere and get paid? Is his late season resurgence enough to bring his market value up?

Keuchel- I think he's going to ask for way more than we will be willing to pay so I think he goes somewhere else.

Marwin- I see him wanting to go somewhere where he has an every day position. He hurt his value some with his offense this year but I'd still like for him to be back.

Harris- As you mentioned, I think he's the odd man out and he either hangs em up or signs a short deal somewhere else.

Moldy Nacho- He's gone. We'll go after a free agent and have stassi as our #2

Gattis- I thinks he's gone as well but he won't command much on the open market so if we miss out on some FA DHs we may sign him to a one year deal.

Sipp- This one worries me. He pitched well this year but the previous two he looked bad. He's replaceable with internal options so he'll more that likely go somewhere else.

Morton- I think we offer the QO and he accepts then hangs em up after 2019.

McCann- He'll retire after dealing with injuries all year and continuing decline of offensive production.

I think Marwin knows his job as a Major League player. No one is going to offer him as a single position player. Because that’s not what he is and he has the talent to play anywhere on the field.

Gattis won't have much market unless someone wants to play him at catcher or 1B. There's will only be a few openings for DH

LAA- Pujols/Ohtani
OAK- Davis
TEX- Choo
SEA- ??
CHW- Davidson
DET- ?? or Miggy
KC- ??
MIN- Sano
CLE- Encarnacion
TOR- Morales
NYY- Stanton
BOS- Martinez
BAL- Davis
TBR- ??

If we go after Cruz, Gattis could potentially end up in Seattle.

I think both Marwin and Morton are highly motivated to stay here.

Morton more so because I don't think he really wants to play much longer.

Marwin, because I don't think it can be understated how close this team is. He truly loves playing with these guys

Chris Davis only DH'd 12 times, so Baltimore might be a possible landing spot for Gattis.

Definitely not a wide market for DH though.

I agree that Marwin's value is in his versatility. It's if he wants to prove that he can be really good at a single position over being good at multiple.

I’d say Mchugh gets back into the rotation with James and Whitley being the other two.

I can see Whitley being a early season call up. What about Frambaw?

Yeah, I remember Morton hinting earlier this season that he may retire, but with the money he'll probably get offered it would be a dumb move IMO.

Offseason thread is 5 pages already. Like it like it a lot.

Here are the needs for free agency this offseason for me:

1. Health. Need everyone to relax and hopefully get healthy and 100% before the season. Springer, Altuve, Correa, Morton (if he signs). If Lance does end up getting Tommy John, he obviously won't play so I didn't include him.

2. Starting pitching. Keuchel and Morton are free agents, Lance COULD miss the season, and Verlander and Cole are free agents after 2019. We have a ton of young options (Framber, James, Whitley, Bukauskas), and McHugh too, but I think we should get a starting pitcher or two. Love to get Eovaldi and Corbin, but don't know if that's realistic. But we do need help here.

3. Catcher. Likely not gonna resign Maldanado and I don't want McCann as a starter. He's a backup if anything, and I think he has 1 year left. If I'm wrong correct me on that. Would LOVE Realmuto like everyone else, but Marlins might ask for too much. Would like to get Grandal as a free agent if anything.

4. DH. Gattis won't be resigned and I don't like White as the DH of the future. He is just a back up plan. Would love to get Nelly Cruz, but who knows how much he'll cost but we need a power hitting DH.

5. Corner OF. Yeah we'll likely see more Ted Tucker who I like, but if he struggles, I would like to have someone reliable to back him and Reddick up. Brantley, Cargo, or shall I say, Bryce Harper? I would like insurance here.

6. In terms of our free agents, Gattis will be gone, Keuchel will be gone though we might have talks with him, and I would like to see us resign Morton and Marwin but who knows what they.

Those are my thoughts on free agency and the offseason. Might need to do more research who else is available that we could possibly get. We have some work to do, but we'll be great again next year. Sorry for this being so long.

There was a FG post earlier that projected our payroll next year on the books with arb increases at 130m. We were at 160 this past year and we aren’t cutting payroll so I think we could be at 170-180 next year giving us 40-50m to spend. If Morton cuts off 18-20 of that, we are talking around 25-30m roughly.

I think that could give us space to resign Marwin and add a good catcher like a Grandal but not sure much more. Or we can go cheaper on the utility spot and add a Nelly Cruz type

$15M team option with no buyout. 100% chance that they cut him loose.

Marwin is insurance here if he comes back, as well as Tony Kemp. And Marisnick and Straw will be around.

Him, Correa and Altuve all live in montrose. Altuve and marwin both have kids.

I don’t see marwin leaving unless the money is stupid elsewhere. Which is possible.

Guys if I win the lottery I will be getting with Luhnow and Crane on donations I can make to get the DAT sponsorship sign above Crawford Boxes as well as any specific Free Agents we would like to see signed.
