Also, we know Altuve’s OPS was his lowest in a long time. His BA was up though. All year it seemed like he was a bit off. Strange season for him.
I feel the same way. It seemed like a very quiet, but still good year for him. In the other thread, someone mentioned he was still in his prime. I’m not quite sure that’s the case. Doesn’t mean he isn’t still very good, but he’ll be 35 next year. I think Altuve puts more and more pressure on himself as the core guys have left and that affects his focus sometime. That will only get worse if Bregman leaves.

This is exactly where I am. I think the decline is happening and may come rapidly. And Bregman is unlikely to age gracefully, so there may be a path that the team is in a nut hug being loyal to the stars that brought them almost a decade of sustained excellence.

Didn’t realize that JV didn’t reach the innings requirement to guarantee next year. Whew.

On the flip, we still have LMJ, Montero, Abreu, Pressly, Hader, and I’m sure others under big contracts. Just atrocious decision making time and time again in regards to these contracts.

I’d really like to see him move back in the lineup. He was a 2 hole hitter in 19 and 3 hole in 17. I know I had read somewhere but can’t remember where, that he wasn’t completely comfortable hitting leadoff, but there was just no other slam dunk fit for that role so it just sort of fell to him. But to me he doesn’t walk enough and as we know is a less than stellar baserunner. I think Tucker could fill the old Springer role if he gets his head on straight.

Altuve is not in his prime and is about to fall off fast
But probably the greatest astro of all time so he can do what he wants.

You absolutely must shop Tucker
I honestly don’t think he will fetch much more for the full year than at the trade deadline though
His general makeup is just weak. Nobody chomping at the bit to get a guy who takes 3 mos to heal from a foul ball. We can hope he builds value to the ASB and include a serviceable player in the deal
We already have enough holes to fill to start the year. CF, 1B, and relief pitcher. I won’t include 3B until it is apparent that Bregman won’t accept a reasonable contract. He gave us QABs with solid D and I feel like his approach will get better post contract

At least we let Maton go LOL

I was just looking at Hader’s stats. What a fricking nightmare signing this was.
And Pressly’s stats were very similar.
Couple of assholes.

Agreed. It would suck to have a pitcher unravel and blow your 1 run lead in the 8th inning. It would really really suck.

Just think, we would have had more options

It's fun to see just how many mentally retarded losers there are on the MSB.
Posted on 10/2/24 at 9:25 pm to Jwho77
There’s so much that comes to mind to respond to them, but then you realize it’s mental masturbation and they’re not worth the effort, and definitely not worth a response

Let’s take a vote;
- Upvote this post to keep Tucker going into next year
- Downvote to shop him hard this offseason

It’s not black or white
Depends on the return
You most definitely shop him, but I really don’t think anyone overpays for him in ghe offseason
He could have more suitors and a similar price tag at the deadline. We could use his production up to then. Too many other holes to fill

He needs to go somewhere with a short porch in right…would hit 40 homers in yankee stadium..all those warning track upper cut fly balls would be out. If they are close this year but don’t get it done I could see them wanting him
Posted on 10/2/24 at 9:40 pm to Big L
Ohhhhh, he'd crumble in NYC. They would eat him alive.
Posted on 10/2/24 at 9:44 pm to wahoocs
What about Kikuchi? Do we make a run at him?
I think it’s worth kicking the tires.
Framber, Brown and Blanco should be definites. Garcia should be good to go. You could do a lot worse than Spaghetti as the 6th starter. Kikuchi could make it a top tier staff in MLB.

Padres realized they weren't going to be able to resign Soto and traded his last year. They came out alright. I'm in favor of doing the same with Tucker.
Hate to lose a player of his caliber. But we're not keeping him after next year and he could bring a lot of talent back. I'd be tempted on Framber too.
