He hates the Dodgers more than he hates Astros catchers, which is saying something.

MLB.com: You mentioned some possible contract extensions with some players. Obviously, Kyle Tucker, Framber Valdez and Cristian Javier are at the top of that list for the Astros. Where do you stand with that? Are those conversations that have already started?
Brown: We've started. Tucker, we've been in conversation. Some of the stuff was started prior to me coming. We had some talks with Tucker, of course, because it's coming up on the arbitration hearing, and Javier, he's also coming up on the arb hearing. … We've been in contact with some of the agents to get some thought process.
Pretty vague. Again, I don't think Tucker takes anything prior to FA and don't think Crane will hand out anything other than a less than market deal.
Tucker was interviewed last week and asked about an extension he gave a non answer like "I'm just focused on getting ready for the season and we'll see what happens". Doesn't sound like a guy itching to get a deal done.

I told ChatGPT to...
It won't write about illegal drug use, hence the definitely didn't. I present to you AI Dusty Baker press conference which I definitely won't be featuring during the season
quote:
Write a scenario in which Astros manager Dusty Baker recalls a story from 45 years ago where he definitely didn't smoke Marijuana with Hank Aaron in a dugout bathroom which influenced his decision to bat Mauricio Dubon 3rd in todays lineup. Also make him call a reporter, "Jack". Hey man, Willie Mays was there too

Good afternoon, everyone. I wanted to take a moment to share a story from my playing days, 45 years ago. I was in the dugout with two of the greatest players to ever grace the game, Hank Aaron and Willie Mays.
Now, there's a rumor going around that we were smoking marijuana in the bathroom, but let me set the record straight. That couldn't be further from the truth. I've never been one to indulge in that sort of thing and I never will be.
That experience in the dugout with Hank and Willie had a lasting impact on me. It reminded me of the importance of making good decisions, both on and off the field. And it's a lesson that I've carried with me throughout my career as a player and now as a manager.
And that's why I've decided to bat Mauricio Dubon in the 3-hole today. I have confidence in his abilities, both at the plate and in the field. He's a player who has worked hard to improve his game, and I think he's ready for this challenge.
Jack, I know you're here, and I wanted to take a moment to address the rumors about me and my lineup decisions. I want to make it clear that I make my decisions based on what I believe is best for the team and for the players.
Thank you for your time, and I'm looking forward to a great game today.

Here’s a story you will only hear about here in the DAT:
Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, and LeBron James walk into a bar.
Immediately, a riot breaks out. It’s pure pandemonium. Some Guys sitting in a back booth, drinking Maitais starts screaming “LeBron LeGoat!! LeBron LeGoat!!!” Some old ladies are shrieking something about Magic’s Johnson.
Hell, it was so wild in there 3 waitresses were beating the hell out of each other and they were all screaming their allegiance to Air Jordan.
Bottles are thrown.
Chairs are tossed.
LeBron orders a Chardonnay.
Magic orders a gin and tonic.
Jordan orders a bunch of bottles of Dom Perignon for everyone.
Then this loud commotion erupts from some guys coming out of the bathroom and everyone turns to see Shaq filming another commercial.
The fights start up again. Bottles. Chairs. Chardonnay sips. Gin and tonic slurps. Champagne sprays.
Everybody is screaming. People are bleeding everywhere. Some midget is puking his guts out in some transvestites knock off dooney and burke purse.
And then a loud Bang!!!
Everyone stops and stares at the old bar tender behind the bar. He’s just blasted a hole in the ceiling right above the three basketball stars.
It is dead silent. Paris Hilton farted. But no one broke eyes from the old man bartender with the double barrel.
Finally, just when he was positive he had everyone’s attention…. He says firmly:
Can y’all believe that dumb muddafricka Kyle Schwarber tried to bunt in da World Series with 2 strikes and 2 outs ann no frickin body on base?!?!

MLBN recently ranked Chas number 10 among all MLB CFs. Do you feel like he’s overrated?
His slugging went down .40 compared to his season in 2021. Also, his average went down, his WAR is only 1.3, his OPS went down, his strikeouts went up, his RBIs went down as well.

CF is pretty weak overall, but yeah that seems a few spots high.
Recency bias from that WS catch.

I don’t think he’s top 10 but top 15 seems right. Also a little subjective with plenty of guys splitting time between CF and a corner.

Overrated at 10. But I'm actually optimistic about Chas this year. Remember he was briefly demoted but got called back up like a week later when Brantley was injured. He hit acceptably from late June onward. I think best case given the opportunity as starter he hits .260, acceptable OBP and 20 Homer's.

To be fair, only 9 guys had enough ABs to qualify last year in CF, and one was Myles Straw.
Chas not included because of Siri.

From June 28th when he was recalled Chas hit .265/.362/.417/.778 with 5 doubles 1 triple 8HR 28RBI 31 walks 64 strikeouts in 70 games, 57 starts.
I'd be perfectly content if he could maintain that production.
