He may not play the field, and I don’t care

Brantley, Bregman, and Abreu in the same lineup will wear down quality pitchers

12 M and only 1 year commitment

Brantley wants to be here

Brantley wants to prove his health and then sign for 3 or 4 years to finish his career.

That’s a good deal for both sides.

So I guess that's it for the off season

Feels like any big moves from this point would be via trade and if those trades would involve starting pitching I’d rather stand pat.

If this is it I’m satisfied except for catcher, but that’s an annual occurrence we’re used to.

I'd still like to see a Drury addition.

I think we’ll get Gurriel on a 1 year 5 M deal as a bench player

And could see him play several games in LF

I'm fine with Gurriel as a off the bench utility guy.

Somewhat DAT related...Bill Belichick and the Patriots just had the ultimate "On to Cincinnati" end to their game with the Raiders...

Profar and re-sign Yuli for the utility role. Done.

Profar and Hensley can handle utility.

Unless Brantley is the DH I don't see this working out well.

I think he'll end up as the DH in the most overall games, if healthy.

He may end up the assistant batting coach again.

Could be. But in this market, it was a better risk than most.

Yuli’s not the Gold Glove AL Batting Title guy of 2 years ago any more than he’s the .242 hitter of last year.

He’s a more than adequate replacement for Diaz’ WS roster spot, and having him as a defensive replacement late in games at 1st with a lead could prove valuable

Love Yuli but I’d rather Hensley have that roster spot tbh.
