AL West:
1) y-Houston 98-51
2) Everyone Else - Eliminated!

Yankees 89-58 - 6 Still looking to get to 90. Judge going for the big 61 tonight.

x: clinched playoff birth
y: division championship
z: #1 AL Seed

Let’s keep this thing going! Magic number for AL home field.

It’s Lance McCullers, Jr day today. How deep can he go? Will it take him the first inning to settle in?

Kyle Tucker got RBI 100 last night! Can he get 2 more homers to hit 30? I say YES!!

And finally…Yainer Diaz got his first hit!

FODB

frick the Yankees!

Keep it going Astros!

I can see why an analytically driven front office would love having this guy in charge of the team

I'm on board with FODB on that though - throw the batting analytics in the trash can and focus on making contact into the gaps. HR or K trend needs to die. And for JV's sake bunt the fricking ball when they're shifting and less than two outs. Get on base, pussies.

Oversimplification. The Astros don't teach home run or K. If you ignore analytics at this level you are woefully behind the times.

Feela good when a guy flares one that drops for a 2 run single. You won't make a living hitting the ball with less than 95 mph exit velo consistently. Yell at clouds all you want, reality stands against it.

You can tell when the team has made a concerted effort to study the opposing pitchers

They have virtual reality tech at their disposal, and nothing takes the place of repetition

Baker is a primitive being, a fossil

I actually think he's probably a good enough guy to hang out with, I just would prefer he wasn't the final authority on decision making for my ball club

Can anyone explain why my kid who is a Mets fan can watch every single game on the MLB app but my other kid who’s an Astros fan can’t watch any?

How can this still be true in 2022? How does it benefit MLB to keep us from watching games.

Louisiana. I realize it’s blacked out, I just don’t get it.

Good things happen when you hit the ball hard.

Has to do with trying to force people to put pressure on their cable/satellite/TV providers to pick up the regional sports network that carries the team. As outdated of a philosophy as Dusty Baker’s tangible managerial tactics, but its MLB, after all.

Speaking of the doofus, that article on Baker was typical feel-good, counter-culture nonsense from The Athletic, which is still 4 1/2 months and counting now without a beat writer covering the team with the best record in the AL. Let’s talk about how “cool” and how he’s his own man and not talk about how anyone as out of touch with analytics as he is better have the best pitching staff on the planet and three or four elite position players to be a lock for 100 wins.

Baker has almost as much to do with this team’s success as any of us do. He’s a D student put in charge of a class full of honors students.

It's because you are supposed to be subscribing to and watching ATT Sports. You live in their viewing area. They have a deal with the Astros. It's not blacked out because of attendance. It's blacked out because of their TV deal.

Aside from less crime, lower taxes, better schools, better weather, less traffic, better scenery, and generally better quality of life... not having the Astros blacked out has been the best part of moving to Tennessee.

Thanks. ATT is available on Fubo, so I’ll try that instead of Sling.

My daughter (no pics) loves Nashville so much. It's like Texas with better weather. She said she didn't understand why people liked fall so much till she lived in Nashville.
