The Twins wouldn’t take on Walker and paid $33 M down on Correa instead

Yeah, his value might be negligible

I know it hurts some fee fees to mention trading Pena. I'm predicting what they will do, not what I would do necessarily. He will fetch a lot in a trade. You make room for Paredes/Correa on the left side of the infield while bolstering other areas. Then you dump Walker to clear the way for Alonso.

We’ve also had one year of consistent production from Pena. I don’t hate it.

I gotta tell ya J, I'm not confident this organization won't ruin him. And I'm not up for watching the NLs leading home run hitter over the last 6 years struggle to hit 20 in an Astros uniform.

They were in fire sale mode, though.

I dare them to ruin the power of Pete Alonso.

Thanks for the eulogy. I heading to SutterHealth tomorrow to see them play the A’s. When I bought the tickets I was expecting to see them come to town in triumph but it wasn’t meant to be.

They went from the Lastro’s to World Series champs in a short time.

I think they are more likely to trade Paredes than Pena. Correa has been pretty vocal about wanting to play 3B and had declined a good bit at SS. Either way the pieces for next year don’t fit well currently and one of those two should probably be dealt

Makes sense, but looking at it the other way, Pena's value will likely never be higher than it is now. He is more of a free swinger and will cost more.

Paredes value has to be hurt somewhat with the hamstring injury to end the season. He does provide you a quality AB that this team sorely needs and will not cost as much as Pena.

Everything you say makes sense but I think there's an understanding between Correa and the team that he's playing 3B, period. I would think everything else will revolve around that.

My completely uneducated guess is they just keep everybody and put Paredes, Altuve, and Yed into a 2B/LF/DH rotation.

One or more of them will be injured before opening day anyway, and Dubon will be an everyday player.

This is the most likely scenario.

If they trade anyone it'll be Urias... no spot for him.

Well as long as we can agree that this season needs to be over.

And if you needed any further proof, look nowhere else but the fact that here we are talking 2 days after the last game in this thread without an anchor.
