Funny how we pretty much to the Mariners every time we've faced them lately, but literally every other team in baseball that plays them has no trouble beating them at all. None whatsoever.

I’m sure hinch is already planning which shift formation to employ against him next year. He just needed more data.

I’m pretty sure the padres just swept them two series ago. Let that sink in.

Comparing Valdez and Keuchel, at least Valdez can be used out of the pen.

The combined exit velocities of each of Keuchel's last 30 first innings is greater than the speed of sound

2-7 against the Mariners at home.

They were even falling apart and pretty much exited the playoffs discussion within the last week and a half, had locker room fights etc.

6 home games played so far on this homestand.

3 of the 6 games:

2 runs on 5 hits
1 run on 3 hits
0 runs on 4 hits tonight.

Pathetic, and yet, we were one out away from turning over a 1-run lead to osuna in that 2nd game.

It’s Springers birthday tonight. They all have plans later.

Nah, I’ve watched too many other inept offensive performances at home to know that a special occasion has little to do with it.

Tonight’s special though. They REALLY don’t care about this game

If anyone thinks this is the team you’ll see in the playoffs, I don’t know what to tell you

They'd all rather lose 9-0 than on a GS in the 8th inning, but I think the takeaway from this game is that there is not an Astro player, Astro fan in the stands, or an Astro fan watching or listening, that isn't already mentally beat before Keuchel throws the first pitch of any game he starts.

Agreed. I wonder how the game turns out if keuchel would have actually had a shutdown first inning for once and proceeded to settle in accordingly.

They still have to win the division and I'd bet the farm Correa is no better in the postseason than he is right now.

It's looking like it's going to be really hard to leave Yosh Yames off the postseason roster.

It looked like that the second he walked off the mound at Fenway

Telling sign was Hinch leaving him in to face the heart of the order.

Typical overly precautious Hinch and his front office would never have opened Pandora's Box to possibly face criticism, if they had no intention of putting him on the roster.

The bigger question is how do you get Valdez and his killer curveball into the mix, knowing he throws a ball for every strike, but has been effective, without a guaranteed 2 or more runs in his first fricking inning everytime.

I think each player would admit it has been a long past offseason and year, and that they would enjoy a full offseason for a change.

But let's not underestimate what can and probably will happen once postseason starts. These guys didn't get this far without that internal drive and motivation that will takeover come October.

Just need to limp to the finish line. Better than shooting our wad like the Indians last year going into the postseason.

Just need one game better than the A's. Pre-supposing they would go undefeated the rest of the way, we only need 7 wins with 4 of those games vs the Orioles.

I'm not concerned about the division title.

I'm concerned. If they lose all 3 home games then what?

Just win this series against the Angels, at home, and we win the division. We might win 7 in a row when we play the Blue Jays and Orioles. We should have zero trouble against them. We had Frambaw, James, and Keuchel against the Mariners, I think we win 2 or 3 against the Angels with Verlander, Cole, and Morton this weekend.

We're definitely still gonna win the division, and I think it'll be at least by 4 games. We'll be fine.
