I see a 17-game stretch in there and two 13-game stretches.

Dusty is already planning his rest rotation.

I went there earlier in the season. Very nice park and definitely recommend.

And, hopefully, it will never get used with the Astros.

Moldy is starting his 3rd game out of the last 4

Previous three games he is 0 for his last 10 with 7 K's

Vazquez has 9 hits in the previous 5 games he's played

Anyone remember that time we started our best lineup and scored 21 runs?

Dusty felt that was poor sportsmanship, hence the reluctance to roll it out again.

Someone on Twitter called Dubon "doodoobon" and I hate myself for chuckling at that.

I don't hate that at all. That's pretty funny to my 3rd grade sense of humor.

I'm choosing to be encouraged by Mancini in left and Chas in center.

Yuli and Maldy will be on the bench October 11th. Speak it into existence.

Maldonado is starting because it’s a Framber start. Not saying it’s right, just saying it is.

I wish, but at this point I don't see it. Mancini and Yed will be LF/DH, but Dusty is set on his veterans. Vazquez might get one start per playoff series.

Yep. And Maldy will be starting for Framber starts in Oct as well. He's Framber's daddy...babysitter, whatever.

That’s why I said yesterday that Vazquez needs to catch JV a few times before the postseason starts. JV doesn’t need a babysitter, and he will shake until he gets the pitch he wants. Vazquez just needs some reps catching him, and a bullpen session isn’t the same.

Re: the Astros’ rotation shuffle: José Urquidy says he is starting Saturday. Garcia is Thurs, Verlander is Sunday. That leaves Friday up in the air. Cristian Javier, who threw a bullpen today, said he doesn’t know what’s happening yet. Lance McCullers Jr. threw a bullpen Tuesday.

Reading the tea leaves, it sounds like Javi is going to get the shaft. Based on merit, Garcia should go to the pen as a long man. He's been on a downward trend for months.

Baker (probably): “Javi is my multiple innings long reliever.”

Never mind that a kick-arse starting pitcher is way more valuable than a long reliever, even in the postseason. It would be logic along the lines of Dubon and Maldonado starting when Verlander pitches.
