Breg will help him transition, I think he'll be good unless he rides the pine meat and is stuck in the green house

Of course he's going to struggle. 95% of prospects that come up to the majors with struggle with ML pitching.

Don't tell that to these guys though. 10 ABs are enough to judge a guys entire career. Everyone has to be Correa and have success from the start or fingers will be pointed.

So basically we gave up on the season and we are seeing who has ML potential and who doesn't.

I don't think they gave up. I think they realized a few of those vets were terrible and there was no risk in bringing up younger guys. Even if they suck. The upside is you get to give them some valuable MLB at bats and if you get lucky you may squeeze out a wild card. I still think the WC is a long shot given the schedule and injury to LMJ and lack of a closer.

I think that was the trade off at the deadline.

Cubaw was obviously promised a chance at 3rd. If it doesn't work out (defensively) nbd, goto Bregs next year.

Same with the outfielders. Let's see what they can do.

1st base is unreal, nobody wants that job. Anybody who can hit gets that job next year.

That September schedule is brutal. And for the rest of the season there are 32 games against playoff contenders. The only non contenders are a series against the Rays, A's and Angels.

They will need to play 10 over .500 from here out to get a wc.

The other teams ahead of us are better.

Sea
TOR
Balt.
Boston
Cleve
Detroit

One of those teams will win the east. One the central. So 4 teams we need to climb over. Extreme long shot. If we take 2 out of 3 in Toronto I'll have a glimmer of hope.

We've basically called up Fresno's entire lineup this year

C Stassi
1B Reed
2B Worth
3B Moran
SS Bregman
LF Tucker
CF Kemp
RF Teo

Right now, sure. In a week when Gurriel is here and if Valbuena is back, we can compete with anyone considering how good our pitching has been this year.

I'm worried about the pitching against the better offenses.

Like Toronto and Texas? We gave up 18 runs in 7 games vs those teams. Pretty good.

I think most of us are just concerned about the offense against good teams.

That's where I'm at. The pitching has been pretty damn good.

Offense has been streaky beyond all get out.
