At this juncture, they are going to have to shed the salaries of Reddick and Gurriel to pay for another starter. The unavoidable trade for a playoff starter this month should change that somewhat.
Meanwhile, how many reliable relievers outside of Pressly and Osuna do they have under contract for next year? Not enough.

I think we need new coaches at this level. They’re ruining our players. Just promote the AAA staff. Whatever they are doing is working. Do you really think yordan let’s that pitch go at round rock? That was nothing special. Whatever he learned at AAA is slowly disintegrating under the awesome tutelage of our brain trust. Same with the pitching.

That fact that Devo is still on the big league roster trying to figure things out while getting roughed up on the regular is a telltale sign the pitching staff lacks any depth in the upper minors.

I'm not going to blame the Umps. Management knew there was a hole in the Starters spots, and did nothing to rectify the situation. Fools paradise thinking Peacock or McHugh could fill that hole. They need to find a starter and a middle reliever, before we end up a wildcard team.
