Phillips will come back to bite us. Best 5 tool player on the farm. Him and springer roaming RF and CF would have been ridiculous

Wrong. What was dealt does not change the definition of a rental in deadline trade terms.

I mean, you gotta give something up to get something. Gomez is ours through next season with a relatively inexpensive contract and Fiers is having a decent season, which gives us depth in the rotation. I like Phillips as much as the next guy, but it's not like he's a sure thing. And like Les said, the draft gave us great OF depth in the farm system.
A lineup with Altuve, Gomez, Springer, Correa, Lowrie, Tucker, etc. is pretty formidable.

This trade makes me want to throw up. I wanted Gomez, Fiers does nothing for me. I assume that means we're out on Tyson Ross. The inclusion of Fiers really makes me question this deal. It drove up the price and he's not much better than what we've got.

Yeah I really don't get the Fiers part. He's not much better than Feldman.
