Question for the experts… is there any limit or rules to the whole other team eating salary thing?
If spotrac is up to date looks like we could take on a 2 million per type guy if Montero is part of the deal. I’m holding out hope he’s here for a reason, and that the reason is not to pitch for the Astros.
I was specifically looking at Kennedy and it looks like we’d be about 30K short. So is it as simple as getting the other team to eat that much?

No limits to money eating in trades. A few grand here or there is easy to get another team to pay.
If they do another trade while trying to stay under the tax, they can use Montero and/or Raley to offset salary and/or just have the other team eat all or part of it.

Ok I'm getting tired of the Dodgers and Padres wrecking trade season for everybody else. Padres pick up Daniel Hudson.
While the Nats are burning down their franchise, I wouldn't mind picking up Yon Gomes but I think we all know we're not going to do anything about the massive hole at C.
