Tell them good talks and move on if that's what they want

I wouldn't have a problem with fisher for gray.

Just means we'll have to make due until Baby Tuck comes up next year, which is fine.

ETA: not sure Fisher is on the same "level" as Frazier or Torres

Torres - 3rd
Frazier - 20 something
Fisher - 54

I have a hunch the A's have had a package headed by Fisher in hand from us for awhile, and they've been trying to beat it elsewhere.

True. Guess we'll see soon.

Still think BP is a more important upgrade and would rather give up Fisher for one of those guys

Also, I wonder if Paulino is still any sort of sought after even with the suspension

The bullpen gets upgraded by getting a starter since Peacock or whoever get go back to the pen. In the playoffs I want 3 very solid starters.

Rosenthal says "The Astros and Brewers, at this moment, are not significantly involved" for Gray at the moment.

This is crazy.

Still need someone who can get LHP out and/or turn around CLE switch hitters if needed.

Sipp is DOA

More from Rosenthal:

"The Astros, in the words of one source, are “lined up to do a lot of different things,” depending upon how the markets for starters and relievers shake out. The addition of both a starter and one of the top left-handed relievers (Brad Hand, Justin Wilson, Zach Britton) probably is not out of the question."

I don't really like the idea of being the last team to make a move if we miss out on our guy.

But it would probably be cheaper

I'm thinking we get a Wilson Verlander package. We'll give up Fisher, Martes+, but the Tigers will eat a lot. Verlander will win a 1-1 game in the NLDS. 7IP, 4H, 1R

Luhnow has said he was skittish on doing anything early because he went out and got Kazmir early on in 2015 and then David Price came available. But I think at this point we know who's available and there aren't any surprises.

That would have to happen quickly so Verlander has a chance to approve the deal and the league office can approve how much money Detroit will kick into the trade.

I love that gif and that's my usual reaction to 75% of the posts in the DATs.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm about tired of talking in circles about trades and who's available and who's not and what it would take to get them. Monday can't get here soon enough.

The Astros are expected to make two corresponding moves today to activate Keuchel and Harris. One of them: Michael Feliz optioned to AA.
