Tonight McCullers is facing off against Shoemaker.

Preston Tucker is back with the big boys as Reed went down to get every day at bats.

The real question, when do we see Bregs?

So many rumors yesterday about Bregman but I've not seen anything confirmed. Have you?

If so, what will his # be and when can I get that jersey?!?!?!?

If Tucker could just repeat what he did as a rookie he would be ok at DH. He was on pace to hit .250 with 25 bombs.

But Bregman should be up and starting at 3b until Guirrel is MLB ready. Move Valbuena to 1B and let Marwin DH and spell Altuve and Correa.

You don't just risk losing Danny Worth for nothing. I'm sure there's a bidding war going on right now.

White Sox probably offered us Sale for Danny Worth. I don't blame Luhnnow for holding out, he could probably get them to add Quintana to that deal.

If there's one man who can get the fans to not care anymore, it's Jeff Luhnow. Totally sucking the excitement out of the air.

Great article on McCullers making adjustments:

quote:

Actually, that’s an understatement, he’s the second-worst starter in the league by walks right now. And part of the picture is that he’s in the bottom ten on first-pitch strikes.

The problem for McCullers on the first pitch sounds like he has to have confidence in throwing his fastball in the zone, when his fastball doesn’t have anything like the nasty movement that his breaking ball does.

The solution? The sinker. He just started throwing it in his last game, and it gives him something he didn’t have before. “Sometimes you feel more comfortable with certain pitches than others, so even though it moves more, I feel more comfortable throwing it in the zone,” the righty said. Here, command is the confidence to throw that pitch to the middle and let the movement take it to the edges — rather than becoming too fine with the four-seamer.

I think if Reed and Moran would have done better with their time in the MLB, the Astros would have promoted Bregman with ease.
