That was the worst half inning of plate discipline of the entire season.

The whole team should be forced to watch that inning with the K Zone and then be asked, "So why do you think we are in a terrible team hitting slump?"

I switched to radio. My eyes cannot take it anymore, and I'm no fan of Ford.

I hope Luhnow learns a lesson with this high power, low average, high strikeout offense. Yeah they'll score a bunch of runs (in clusters) and then they'll have prolonged slumps like this where they couldn't hit Grandma Luhnow's fastball. Bash me if you wish but its a poorly constructed lineup. An optimal lineup features a mixture of power, on base and speed guys.

They had an article about that on Crawfish boxes the other day. Most of the guys Luhnow has drafted are high OBP, high power and hit for pretty good contact. Not many singletons and Santana's anymore.

This lineup is tough to stomach when we aren't hitting bombs.

Right. I think we can all agree its been fun to watch all the home runs this year. But Luhnow absolutely built this team to live and die by the home run. When we don't hit em, we struggle to manufacture runs. This just isn't an offense that's built to manufacture a rally thorough station to station hits and basehits strung together. Its just unlikely you're going to get guys who are hitting .220 to .240 to string together a bunch of hits in a row.

Valbuena must hae stolen candy from a baby in then laughed in the baby's face. Dude is the unluckiest hitter ever.

That's why I think they are the trade centerpieces this month. I don't believe they are in the future plans although I think highly of Santana.

Jon would be a great trade value, low cost, team friendly deal for anyone that thinks they can get him going.

This is a dumb move. At least Singleton can hit a FB. Carter would be lucky if he could catch up to a pitching machine.

I wish they would cut him before he sat down.

Yeah. That's why I think he looks like prospect gold in a trade.
