Carter has an unusually low babip this year meaning he has suffered some bad luck which should turn around the rest of the year.

Porter said he's day to day.

That is great fricking news for us. I imagine he probably won't see an at bat for a week

So Carter is basically Adam Dunn without the walks?

Adam Dunn carries a great obp and hits 40 bombs.

I said it before and I'll say it again.

Castro & Carter are the keys to this lineup.

If our pitching stays consistent, and those 2 guys get going at the plate, then I think we seriously could climb back into the thick of things for a while

Let's enjoy our winning and put all the bullshite aside. Remember we have been through some real dark days and we stuck with it. Other laughed at our team but we hung in and look at us now. We have promise, the light is at the end of the tunnel. Go Astros!!!

That's why I said "without the walks".

see like 4 pages back when I posted this.

And Trapper, comparing Carter to Dunn would be generous. In his prime, Dunn was hitting 40 bombs and walking 100 times. Fringe MVP candidate if not for the really low average. If we compare Carter to Dunn, we might be able to give him White Sox Dunn. Average .204 28 homers 75 RBI 85 Walks.

Astros are 22-18 since that shittastic April, and 21-12 since early May.

That's awesome improvement

I was at the game tonight and the crowd was great. Had to wait in line at the concessions and had people sitting all around me. Announced crowd on the radio of something like 33,000. Not long ago I could pick a seat in MMP and have the entire row to myself, walk up to buy a soda and not 1 person in line. Hell there were times i've almost had an entire section to myself. Time are changing for us and I'm glad i'm witnessing it. The dark days are over and we have a bright future.

You have to wonder where we'd be record wise if Springer & Singleton would have started the year with the big club.

I may make a game sometime after the break. Good to see the crowd filling out. They need to get this tv deal sorted so Houston a can watch this team.

Meh. Springer only came up about 2 weeks late and he hit .182 through the rest of April. He was pretty much a non-factor his first few weeks. Singleton has been a little better early on but he's still not a total game changer.

Bo Porter on Chris Carter per Brian McTaggart on Twiter

Just checked Dunn's stats. In '12 he struck out 222 times and walked >100. Craaaazy

Yeah Dunn is a pretty rare type of guy. I have no idea how a guy can be such a free swinger that he comes within 1 strikeout of tying the all time record, yet he's patient enough to take over 100 walks.
