I could see a team at least offering something decent for Colby. Someone who wants a left hander.
I would like to hold on to Gattis till we find a suitable catcher who isn't a waste at the plate. Fister has been solid for us but if we aren't looking up by the deadline I wouldn't mind trying to package him for something decent in return.

I could see that but I also think we will need to re-sign Colby again. We have one proven OF (Springer) coming back next year.
Derek Fisher is not proven or likely to even be ready for MLB next season. Bregman could play LF but I am assuming he starts at 3B because I don't believe in Moran (yet).
We may want to open the checkbook for Desmond, who I think would be better in RF. George can move back to CF.

As long as he struggling to hit .220 over, not hitting lefties at all and hitting for 0 power, nobody is offering shite for him. Last 37 games( April 25th through Today), .192 average 1HR 17RBI 6doubles 30% K rate. He's been downright awful.

Yeah I would hold on to Gattis, maybe resign Castro if he isn't demanding too much $. Weiters from Baltimore would be a nice addition to the lineup but I'd guess he gets a nice payday this offseason.
Feldman has hardly any value to a contending team. Fister might be able to return something decent. Valbuena maybe if he keeps hitting.
The thing to remember though is that we are 28-24 against teams that aren't Arlington, so if we keep doing well against other teams, we probably won't be selling too much.

I agree on Colby next year. He may resign with us even if we deal him, who knows, I'm sure that's a conversation they will have. We could absolutely get something for him, there are some contenders that are already pretty desperate in the OF (Cleveland, the Mets) and injuries will keep happening

I think Desmond could be a nice option for us in FA. You could work him at 1B too most likely since he has a little background at SS so he could play the corner OF spots and 1B

Anyone know if there are any promising college outfielders we could get at 17? Fisher and Teoscar are probably the only OF in our system that have major league potential and are also somewhat close to making the show.
I think we will probably take a pitcher though.

Doesn't really matter at this point.

Yeah they are both many years away. Was thinking #17 might be a good spot to get a college OF bat who might be able to contribute sooner than Daz/Tucker.

I've seen Bryan Reynolds from Vandy mocked around 17.
quote:
Reynolds has capped off his college career with an even better junior season: .335/.462/.615. He's already knocked a career-best 13 homers while showing an improved approach at the plate compared to past years, with 46 walks to his credit. Strikeouts remain fairly high with 57 whiffs but the production is undeniable.
quote:
Reynolds should hit. As with his running speed, his raw power isn't exceptional but he gets to it frequently thanks to a keen batting eye and a refined swing. The only real critique you can make is that his strikeout rate is a bit higher than ideal, but it certainly hasn't hampered him in any way.
quote:
Overall, Reynolds is regarded as one of the safer selections in the draft and one who can reach the majors quickly. While such players are often knocked for having "low ceilings," Reynolds should not be under-estimated. He's done nothing but thrive against top-quality competition the last three years

If nothing else, he'd fit right in. I've also seen Buddy Reed from Florida mocked in our area.

Based on that I think I would like that pick. I saw Buddy Reed play during the SEC tourney and he looks like a good player too.

Have to go pitching in the 1st round.

astrosfuture.com had a list of 5 guys he could see us taking. One was Alec Hansen from OU, who has really good stuff but was dogshit this year because his mechanics fell apart. I guess I could see us taking him with one of our 3-5 round picks if he falls that far because he could be good once he figures out how to pitch. Throws really hard and slider has potential.

I also see a lot of mocks with us taking Cody Sedlock. RHP Illinois. Tags tweeted earlier today that the team is high on him.

Yeah I don't know anything about him. I want Hudson from MSU if he falls but I doubt he will be there

Do not want Reed. Really not impressed with him. Great measurables but the production isn't there
