Hoyt couldn't or wouldn't throw his slider for a strike. Such a disgraceful effort.

Outside of Harris and devo our bullpen is a mess.

Seriously.

I'm starting to think that trading for two stud bullpen arms and sticking with our current starting options is the way to go with pitching trades.

Who do you really trust in a playoff situation? Only 2 guys for me on the current pen.

Right now, that's it. Harris and Devo.

There's still a decent chance Luke can get his act together.

On the bright side, we're only screwing ourselves over in a regular season game. LSU is beating themselves in a national championship series.

Yeah I'm actually more frustrated with the offense at home. We know hoyt sucks. The injuries to starters are what cause losses like this one though. Nobody available even after an offday.

I'm not buying that one. Hinch simply wasn't going to use any of our top three options tonight in the 6th inning. It was Hoyt's turn in his bullpen rotation.

Peacock could be very interesting when he returns to the pen, not saying I would trust him in a playoff situation right now though. For me him and Giles are the only two on the roster who could pitch their way into that situation with a great performance down the stretch

Gattis chasing that 3-0 was easily the dumbest thing to happen in this game. This is a totally different game if he doesn't do that

That fact that he is a fat, slow power hitter who constantly chases pitches below the knees is excusable. You can only call it dumb, pure and simple.

Maybe our starters who pitch like middle relievers with 4 shutdown innings every outing can?

Change the 4 to 5, and you're talking about Charlie Morton.

Will be good to have Morton back. Let's hope he can stay healthy for awhile.
