Gotta be Berkman. Played there for 10 seasons.
ETA: He hit 157 in MMP but a couple of those were against the Astros.

The epitome of a one hit wonder. Damn he was frustrating. Never seen anyone think there way through so many called 3rd strikes.

Lots of first row Crawford box shots

Gomez is going to K 4 times against Kluber and probably not make contact once.
ETA: I'm putting the team total at 15 or so.

I was reading some articles about Strasburg and his impending free agency. He'll be far and away the most desired pitcher in this free agent class. It's pretty bare as far as frontline starters go.
Strasburg is absolutely going to get $200+ million. The question is, is he worth it? The other $200 million pitchers (Kershaw, Sherzer, Price, Grienke) all had posted at least one season of 200+ innings with an ERA below 3. Strasburg for all the fanfare, hasn't done those things. He exceeded 200 innings once and his best ERA was 3.00. Not to mention the injury history. Hes been a very solid pitcher but not the mega prospect he was hyped to be.
One of the predictions I saw was 7 years $224 million. That'd be his age 28-35 seasons. $32 million AAV. Would yall do it? Keep in mind, Boras is his agent, meaning he's going to push Stras as the prize of the FA market to boost his value.

I don't see anyone other than Boston NYY or cubs going with a 7 yr deal for him. I think he gets 5 yr 25 million per.

Depends. Personally Id move Musgrove along as its time to find out what we have with him. McCullers IMO is a number 2 potential 1. Depending on how those two do then next year we could feel a hell of a lot different with our rotation looking like Keuchel, McCullers, Musgrove, McCugh. JMO. Devenski/Fiers as number 5 or long reliever.

I would not do it. He has dynamite stuff but only has one year I would define as befitting of an ace. Only thrown 200 innings once and has had injury problems. JMO
I would rather deal for someone than give Strasburg that kind of money, and I don't really want to deal for anyone either

Could you link the articles? I'm interested in reading
LINK to Strasburg's Fangraphs
Here is my train of thought:
1. He is a 3-4.5 WAR pitcher per season over the past few seasons
2. He is currently having a career year in his age 27-28 season. I believe that we can expect him to continue producing at the level he has produced in his career for a few (3-4) more seasons after this season, barring injury
3. Contracts lately have started to include multiple opt out clauses, with Cespedes, Heyward, Kazmir all as examples from last off season (not sure if Price has one). With Boras as an agent, I expect multiple opt outs to be included in his deal (maybe after the 3rd and 5th years)
If he avoids injury, you could be getting a stud pitcher for 3 years before he opts out. If he gets hurt or for some reason gets worse, you are throwing lots of years and $$$ down the drain.
So long story short, if you are confident enough in his ability to stay healthy, it's worth it because if he does pitch well he would probably opt out and you only had to pay for his absolute prime. So is the risk of those extra years of an older, lesser pitcher worth it?
I personally do not believe he is a $32MM/year pitcher due to his injury history, so no, I would not do it.

I usually look much harder at advanced stats but it's crazy to me he's only thrown 1 CG in his career. I've seen him pitch a lot and it just seems like he hasn't developed much since he came up and was a phenom. He is having a great year so far though

You have to take some risks to win sometime. I wouldn't go u years but would do 5 at 25 per.

I would do that in a heartbeat but he will get much more with how weak the pitching is in FA this year
