Another sub .500 team is taking it to the Astros (bullpen). The hated Rangers have taken our boys out of the division lead, while climbing out of the basement themselves. It’s time to leapfrog ourselves back into being YFPHA.

He needed it. I said this during yesterday’s game. Too many strikeouts in too many RBI producing opportunities, even with a recent hitting streak coming into this series. His pitch selection was bad and his swing contact was bad. Hopefully he comes back raking again with men on base.

Castro should be the DH today. Change my mind.

He’s definitely been taking too many pitches to hit early in the count, leaving himself in pitchers’ counts.

Happy for McCormick getting back to back starts after a nice day at the plate yesterday. He’s earned it.

Yed definitely needs the day off. The broadcast said that he’d been tinkering with his swing Bc he wasn’t happy with his power numbers, seems like whatever he was trying to do has not taken very well. He’s extremely susceptible to the right handed changeup and the left handed breaking ball that gets to the plate just low of the zone. Seems like he’s not picking it up down there and has chases all season

Think Straw is on notice. I don't really think much of ChAAAs as an alternative but he's on the roster and Straw isn't performing (offensively or defensively) after two months. May as well give McCormick an extended run of playing time.

No doubt. Lets give McCormick a little run if he’s seeing it well to see if he can actually provide some thump every now and then at the bottom of the lineup. As long as he plays average defense you aren’t missing anything by doing that

I noticed Dee Gordon is on a minors deal with the Brewers. Off to a .333 start in 10 games at AAA. Hes basically what Straw could only dream of being at his best. He was pretty dreadful for the Mariners last season but was adequate as recently as 2019

I’ll be in the outfield stands at mimic maid today. Disappointed Yed won’t be launching one my way but he did need the off day.

Yeah I missed that. I do think I remember Gordon being poo in the outfield when the Mariners moved him.

Its not a great option. But relative to Straw, he could be a better option for a low cost.

Nah

He had many of the same issues as Straw, and likely less QABs

Straw has worked some counts at the very least, and Gordon was also terrible in the OF

Anyone have the report card for yesterday’s home plate umpire? I just turned the game on and saw bregman take strike one on an inside pitch out of the box with the catcher set up on the outside part of the plate and having to reach back to get it.

Thanks. Not as bad as I thought it would be. I’d be curious to know how many times the report led to an astros advantage verses their opponents.
