The Stros have returned to their ways of winning despite the efforts of their manager doing everything in his power to prevent that from happening
Winnable? Cmon people wake up

Is that too long to be the title of the 2022 team book?

Is it safe to assume that Dusty will be out after this season if they don’t win the WS? When they made the PR hire, I don’t think they expected him to have to motivation to continue to manage until he dies.

I hope they win another World Series this year even if it means he stays for another year. But, man, the 162-game trip with him can be painful.
I can’t imagine being a GM trying to work with him. That can’t be a fun job.

By Baker logic, shouldn’t Diaz catch Framber in the event … ah, never mind.

I saw it well described somewhere yesterday that with Dusty you get a pretty competent post season manager but to get there, you've got to put up with 162 games of baffling decision making.

Dusty Baker said Lance McCullers Jr. played catch on flat ground today and did not throw a bullpen as scheduled, but the manager maintained this is not a setback. McCullers will stay in Houston to work out and could join the team on the two-city road trip later.

You took the words off of my thumb
And what a perfect opportunity this would be. Hapless A’s
It can mean only one thing. Maldonado will be especially bad today

Does that mean three errors instead of two?

It means that the logical move to accomplish 2 productive tasks going forward (Diaz reps w Framber and Maldonado rest) will not happen, because it would open a can of worms when it gives better results than the ones we’ve been getting at the insistence of our “branch” manager

It's the most assinine thing imaginable for management of a professional sports team. Not playing a guy who will almost certainly be (way) better because you don't want to hurt the washed up starter's feelings and because the manager plays who he personally likes more.
I watch the team way less because of Dusty Baker.

What's the deal with the Astros rushing back players before they're ready, and then going out of there way to proclaim they aren't setbacks ?

Astros GM Dana Brown, on @SportsTalk790, had an update on McCullers' timeline: "We’re looking at probably somewhere closer to the All-Star break, or after...depending on whether we can get him built up to start. Certainly, we can use him in the rotation, his veteran presence.”

I don’t even know that they’re rushing them back in the cases of Brantley and McCullers. They will eventually be hurt regardless. It’s pick your poison. Do we think we need them to get to the postseason? Or can we wait until then? Again I go back to the point of last year not being a big deal on either because the pitching was so lights out. We don’t have that luxury this year.

LMJ sucking off the govt tit like the politician he is
He should give Gil Meche a call on how to handle his exit with class
The worst thing that could happen to what legacy he has is to get back on the mound
