So we ruined pressly by bringing in a new closer, lost about 80% of our late inning outs with stanek, Neris and Maton, and then got an expensive closer with a non-clutch history. Yeah I can’t see why we are struggling

1.2 innings of bullpen and they turned a 2-2 game into 7-2.

Not throw Press there is a start. This offense isn’t scoring, run Raffy back out or Scott. When has Press pitched well not in plus leverage? It’s just bad usage and he’s done it the first two weeks now

So give up on a one run game?

Pressly hasn't pitched in like 4 days, a one run game is absolutely a leverage situation. If you're not gonna use him there I'm not sure what you are waiting for

I mean you are in a stretch of 13 games in 13 days yea probably use your few leverage guys conservatively so you dont use them in a situation they’ve shown to be shitty in

ESPECIALLY when Scott has shown to be serviceable

I'm not sure what this means but the objective is still to win games. If your best guys don't perform it makes it pretty tough

Come on bruv we know Press has struggled behind or tied in his past and he’s given it up every outing this year.

It’s not that big of a deal I’m just frustrated and probably wrong on this. The pros have to execute I agree there

I’ve not been impressed with Espada yet. The fact that Abreu isn’t in the 9 spot is an abomination. The dude aged badly in the offseason…needs to get on HGH and TRT and drop about 20 to have a chance. Also continuing to put Bregman in the 4 hole is an embarrassingly stubborn take.

I don't know that at all. He's been great as an 8th inning guy in his career and he's in that role again, which means a lot of appearances in tied or one run deficit games. He certainly hasn't been good this year though

Fair enough. It’s probably honestly Rangers bats more than anything. They are wanting to compete and put together winning at bats.

Wish somebody would press Espada on the sorry state of the offense. They've picked right up where they left off in the post season.

I'm not content to be told "Well our guys are going to hit because that's who they are." That's excuse making without any urgency or motivation to figure out.

lol the top four in the lineup had 8 hits.

Bottom five 0 hits. Just no way to construct a productive lineup really.

Might be time to drop Yordan to cleanup with Tucker 2nd and Yainer 3rd. Gotta give him more opportunities to drive in runs if the bottom part of the lineup is going to be this dogshit against quite frankly league average to below pitching

In the Astros' 2 wins, they scored a total of 18 runs.

In the Astros' 7 losses, they scored a total of 16 runs. In 4 of those games, they scored 2 or fewer runs. In 2 of those games, they scored 3 runs each, and in the other loss, they scored 4.

The bullpen is an abomination, but the offense is utter garbage so far.
