Guess they’ll wait on what comes available at the deadline.

Not signing Bauer for league minimum is idiotic

We endured FODB for as long as we did because the Astros Owner is a cuck for Manfried.

He will never go against the MLB commissioner's office. I can see Bauer eventually winning an antitrust lawsuit against MLB. It is clear he is still getting black-balled despite him fulfilling the terms of his suspension. Never mind the fact the allegations against him were blown way out of truthfullness by a vindictive money-grabbing psycho-bitch-whore.

100% correct

And it's funny because Crane loves him some elite arms. That's why he wanted Snell and Hader so badly but probably cares little for Montgomery.

We are definitely at least a starter and reliever shy of what will be needed

We probably could make it to deadline though

One thing is for certain. It ain't coming from our system.

Our rotation might be arse.

Imagine if JV continues to act like an old man, 2nd half Framber keeps at it, Javis sophomore slump continues and Brown doesn't take a step forward.

Sounds like a lot of ifs but it's basically, everybody just keeps pitching like they did at the end of the season.

Do we have any prospects that can fetch anyone worth a damn though?

The starting staff is just a time bomb. It could be an embarassment of riches at best or complete arse at worst.

The Hader move was a power move that Crane impressed me with because I think we could have gotten a 7th inning guy and been ok. Them doing that said to me, ok is not good enough.

The Snell interest that late in the game looks to me like like an “oh shite” moment. And the doubts right now apply to the whole staff. I don’t think there is supreme confidence in any of them at this point.

When JV goes, he’s a regular season workhorse

Framber and Javi have solid streaks in them

Brown is still mostly unproven. Great upside

Urquidy was never gonna be ur 1,2,or 3, but a solid 4. Gonna miss him.

The part I dread the most is when the pitching inevitably falls apart and we get MLBN segment on Maldonado’s absence, topped off by the “I said you’d thank me later” interview with Dusty

Agreed. If he’s healthy, it’s business as usual. That’s the thing though about the Snell interest though. Is it JV’s health, Framber’s psyche, Javier’s decreased velocity, uncertainty of LMJ and Garcia, France regressing to the mean? All of those were already known possibilities, yet it wasn’t until JV got hurt that the Snell stuff started to come out.

Oh you know this is coming. They probably have that produced already, similar to when a celebrity is on their deathbed.

your assertion is founded and valid

but BIG spending is a decision that the Crane method only does when they get more data.. they need to at least mid-season to get there . and then they'll make the decision the numbers,,profit,, long-term business health

we'll know

Montero pitched an inning today and did not allow a hit or run. Festivus!!!

Blanco now up to 15 innings of shutout ball. McCullers shmullers.

Hey, he might be ready

France, Blanco, Bielak, and we can piece the rest together until McCullers, Garcia, and Urquidy do their thing

Are we just all going to sit here and ignore Framber playing basketball for NC State while some skinny short-haired dude is taking his place in the Astros rotation?

I actually watched that game b/c my son needed TT to close out a 4 team ML parlay

Most physical basketball game I’ve seen since the Pistons Bad Boys

Unreal how they let that dude and 34 block like OLmen. I mean just plain manhandle

Refs officiate differently in March. They shouldn't but it also makes for a more old school game sometimes.
