Hinch: Hoyt to AAA. Feliz stays as long reliever.

This. Question is do the Royals start shite before or after we release the Lions? I'm going with before. Team full of bitches. I went from quietly rooting for a team that had been bad for so long, to openly rooting against them because they're trash that started shite with everyone.

Then they got all arse hurt and called out Noah Syndergaard when he did this

Disagree.

Just because he's being used as a long reliever, doesn't mean thats where he's going to stay. He will probably get spot starts throughout the year if he pitches well enough.

Put the best players on the team. MLB experience is not going to hurt him at all. Hes still basically a rookie. Get what you can out of him and when Feldman leaves next year, he's got the experience to move into a starter role in the near future.

Besides, Feliz probably gets sent back down as soon as McCullers is back within a month. One of the F's will end up as the long reliever at that point.

Feliz has never even pitched at AAA. I think he'll absolutely be a part of the rotation this year, I'd rather have him prepping for that role at AAA rather than waiting around for a scenario where the starter gets shelled in the early innings.

That's fine. But if he's a long man, it doesn't make much difference if he's among the best players. When he's coming in in the 3rd inning after the starter gave up 6 runs, the game is probably already lost. Doesn't seem to matter much if the long man is talented or not.

If the scenario is that he's only around for a few weeks until McCullers comes back and Feldman or Fister is bumped to the pen, it makes more sense.

He will eventually be back at AAA.

Doesn't bother me that he's getting more MLB exposure and experience regardless of how or why. If a starter goes down at some point this year, and I'm sure they will, I will like the fact that Feliz has already faced MLB bats instead of coming from the minors.

We are splitting hairs, IMO. Kid will eventually be a starter on the club. Maybe not now, but it's coming.

Fair point. I think the team saw Feliz and Velasquez as similar pitchers and chose Feliz. I'm pretty high on Feliz. I think a future of Keuchel, McCullers and Feliz is a really solid core.

Maybe I'm haunted by the Felipe Paulino saga. Highly regarded minor leaguer with strikeout stuff. They jerked him around between majors and minors. Then couldn't decided between making him a starter, long man or a late inning guy since he had the good fastball. He never settled into a role and put it all together.

I'm sure Feliz already being on the 40 played a part as well. With White taking up the last spot they'd of had to DFA someone to add Hoyt. Plus Mc back in a few weeks and Feliz is sent down.

So is Tal's Hill to be demolished before the 2017 season?

We need to get rid of that MF'er and bring the straight away to 409.

Supposedly. They haven't said much about it since they postponed the original plans. They say they scrapped the idea due to being short on time with making the post season, a cricket match played there in November and the college classic in February.

But they're hosting the classic again in 2017 and if they make the playoffs again it's still a tight window to complete the project.

quote:

“We knew we were going to have to start work probably while the baseball season was still going on,” Ryan said. “Getting into the bidding process and fully vetting everything, taking something from a piece of paper … it was just more detail than we thought we could get done.”

Should the Astros continue as playoff contenders next year, Ryan said the ballclub will be better prepared to cope with schedule changes. One suggestion, he said, is to work during the 2016 season on projects that are not “field facing” while games continue.

One possibility, he said, is that renovations could be completed in two off seasons rather than one.

“Our plans are to put in what we designed and rolled out, but the first thing we have to do is to be able to have a scope and a plan that we can deliver,” Ryan said. “If we can’t deliver it, then it doesn’t matter what our model looks like.”
