We’re close to being historically bad

incredible. We can go from one of the best offenses ever to one of the worst playoff offenses ever.

He also said basically that if they could just get one nice offensive game they’ll break out back to normal. The middle inning runs yesterday should have done that despite 3 of them coming on one well-timed extra base hit. But we didn’t do shite after that minus the Marwin basehit and subsequent run on an error. We are extremely close to being shut out this whole series really.

Really? 1/30 is lecturing the team on how to play? frick. I'm really sick of this "veteran leadership" shite. Carlos Beltran and Brian McCann are secondary on this team. This is Jose Altuve's team. Carlos Correa's team. Where are they? They're gonna be around Houston a hell of a lot longer than Beltran and Squints McGee. Enough deferring to old washed up guys who haven't actually won shite in their careers.

I have no problem with this. Someone shake him out of the corner fetal position.

Come on. This group hasn’t faced adversity yet in their young careers. There is nothing wrong with the older players who have dealt with their back against the wall letting them know what it’s like and what to expect and how they should embrace it and attack it.

Altuve and Correa still have the workout day tomorrow and before the game Friday to grab this teams attention if that’s the kind of guys they are going to be.

I swear every little thing triggers people in here

I’m also very triggered by it. The guys are sort of saying the right things about needing the day off and not dropping the cliches of oh darn just missing blah blah blah. I respect George for saying he’s looking forward to the day off and the rest of the team having a chance to reset.

I do NOT think they can reset over night either but this break is obviously mentally much needed for our guys

George is the guy that's usually bouncing around the dugout, laughing, talking non stop. When we've caught glimpses of him, hes just sitting there with a long blank stare on his face. The whole team is pressing and feeling the pressure.

We just needed a solid inning or two. String together some hits and score some runs and let everybody relax. Now in Friday's game, they're coming off a shutout. Trying to stave off elimination with every at bat. Especially if we go down a few runs early. I'm not feeling good about where we are.

Beside 2015 division race, 2015 alds and last years division race.

That excuse doesn't hold water when facing this Yankees team. Frankly it's chicken shite

Is this a joke? Two career long losers acting as the motivators in this situation? Neither of them know what it takes to win.

Astros talked about how loud it was at Yankee Stadium:
"New York is no joke," Keuchel said.
"This is a wild place to play," Springer said.

quote:

Correa: "It was crazy. I never heard anything as loud as it was yesterday when Gary hit that double. Loudest I've ever been part of."

Damn. We may need to open the roof and get this guys some ear plugs for the weekend. Don't want it to get to rowdy.

Is there any way Hinch goes with Marwin at DH and Fisher in LF Friday? Elimination game so I know he won't.

No chance. He may shuffle the order but we're not playing Fisher with the season on the line.

He should change the lineup. They are god-awful and George and Josh are not instilling confidence in the team with their approach. of the worst. I'd lead off with Altuve then Yuli to correa to Springer in the 4. I think these guys are the least rattled. maybe they can get somehmrhibg going and inspire the god-awful reddick, Bregman, McCann, Beltran, and Marwin. If he sticks with this 5 consecutive game dumpster fire, we're hosed.

Springer has hit leadoff all year. Everybody else has moved around. I think if you're Hinch you risk further sending the team into panic mode if you radically change the lineup into something it hasn't been all year.

Springer
Yuli
Tuve
Correa
Bregman
Marwin
Reddick
Gattis
McCann

Yuli is the wild card. You either bat him ahead of Altuve and Correa so they could potentially drive him in or keep him right behind Correa and hope he can drive them in. Which is the more likely run producing order?

I might even try

Springer
Altuve
Yuli
Correa
Marwin
Gattis
Reddick
Bregman
McCann
