Yea, it just screams Yankees to me at the moment
I feel like Javy would be a very fun but frustrating player to watch. I feel like I see so many highlights from him the past few years, but wasn't his K-rate insanely high?

If we sign him, he can't hit against us.

He led the NL in strikeouts... which was still a lot behind AL leader Gallo. Gallo also led the AL in walks, Baez hardly ever walks.
So, Baez needs to hit almost .300 to be a valuable player, and he did that with the Mets, but his career AVG is .264. So, what are you going to get?

I would prefer Correa, solely because of the respect he's earned in the clubhouse...but Baez would make a mockery of the Crawford Boxes

Baez just doesn't fit the Astros' mold of putting the ball in play and avoiding strikeouts. I think he'll have an impact wherever he ends up, but he's not the player Correa is, that's for sure.
And he's probably going to want more than he's worth, just for that play in Pittsburgh where he magically made them forget how to play baseball.

We do the deal at 10/270, but it's gonna be 300

True. A guy with the nickname El Mago would definitely bring an iPad full of his top-10 plays to the negotiating table
Can we lure both the Seager brothers over and throw Bregman (or Kyle I guess) into LF? Obviously there is no way it happens but sounds like a fun experiment

Heard Lance McCullers had an MRI and word is that he should be fine in the long run. No official word on the next few weeks however.

If nothing else, the reactions on r/baseball will keep me entertained for a couple weeks

Thankfully only 4 more days left in the dusty Era.
Next year: no Correa, no grienke, no JV and they will win more games.

I would love that... but yeah there's no room for both of them. Yuli, Altuve, Bregman, Brantley, Ted, and Yed are inked into the 2022 lineup. CF is pretty well set as well as a Chas/Jake combo.
So we'd have to shuffle the lineup daily to get Seager^2.

Would love to see the spin on why it was a good thing to give $630+ million to those cheating cheating God awful disgrace to baseball spider tackin can banging boo em forever 2019 Astros.
Between Cole, Correa and Springer they'll have totaled over $700 million between them after the 2019 season. Muh cheaters never win

I'm just spit balling here but do y'all think the Astros would go for a higher AAV for 8 years? Like 270/8? AS far as the front office is concerned I think the problem is more the length than the money.

Doesn't seem like a good thing

Like I said yesterday. At minimum it's a forearm strain and that's susually a couple weeks of rest before resuming any throwing.
