Nephew once removed. Good bloodlines.

I’ve been a big Ivey fan since he was at A&M before he transferred. I could see him being similar to Javier or Peacock, kind of on the starter reliever line but really effective for 3-4 innings at a time

@Feinsand
For CBT purposes, Odorizzi’s deal counts as a three-year, $23.5 million deal ($7.83 million per year).

That’s a great deal, IMO

Especially w our present situation. Really almost unbelievable

BTW, a Jason Lane sighting. 3rd base coach for Brewers

They did good. My guess is Souza isn't making the roster to keep a little more trade deadline money free. Makes sense if they want to keep another reliever on hand early, too.

Loomis'd the hell out of this contract.

I think it also makes it unlikely Cishek makes it. I think he was going to get over 2 million if he made the roster. Probably put Scrubb in that spot.

I'd soooo much rather have Cishek. Scrubb sucks. 7.9 walks per 9 last year. He avoided disaster but walking that many guys isn't a recipe for success. You're gonna get burned eventually. And you can't chalk it up to rookie development either. He walked 5 per 9 in his minor league career.

I agree, but if it puts them over the CBT I'd highly doubt they do it. Maybe there's some frickery where you start him on the minor league roster and then call him up that lowers the luxury tax hit.

Dumping Diaz at some point is an option. He counts for 3 million.

Just tuned in to Kaplan interview on 790. My feed was a little grainy but sounded like he was saying he is looking forward to watching yordan play with his grapefruits?

WTF!

I'm pretty sure Ted's grapefruits aren't as big as Scrubb's coconuts.

McCullers needed 53 pitches to get through 2 non consecutive innings. Sooo hes right on track.

I think when you consider that he’s added a pitch to his repertoire, this will undoubtedly lead to more pitches and less control. LOL
