frick this guy in particular.

With that said I think its time to highlight things to be watching this spring training .

Obviously how they move around our staff is number 1 but that relates directly to my number 2.
My 5
JV
DK
GC
CM
LMJ

Typing that out just got me pumped. 2017 All Star Lance McCullers Jr is our number 5 starter.

2Who is the backend of the pen.
Pending the results of the 5 of the rotation we have lots of options.
-Do they see Francis Martes long term in the rotation-if so he probably goes back to AAA to start the season. If not then based on stuff hes 7-8-9 inning guy for sure.
-Is LMJ's destiny ultimately in the pen like his pops? (IMO theres no way he doesnt start the season in the rotation)
-Can devo recapture some of the early season magic/can we control his usage to prevent the second half fall off we saw?
-Is Harris healthy?
-Where does GOATcock fit in
-Was Giles tired was it the "slick baseballs" or is he who some of the DAT thought he was (a solid reliever but not a guy you want in with a runner on second in the ninth up by 1)
3. Is Fisher ready to be playing regularly in LF or do we have to stick Marwin there majority of the time.
-Baby Tucker

Hunch on Gattis role this year:

quote:

Well, I think Gattis, it's important for him to keep his catching and be part of the rotation behind the plate. How much of that depends on the health of the rest of the catching and Gattis' performance. But the DH spot's going to be a little bit more open this year than it was going into last season. Gattis will certainly factor in, as will some of the other position players. But we're still going to want Gattis to catch. How much is to be determined and a lot of that might depend on whether or not we carry a third catcher like Max Stassi or (Tim) Federowicz or the guys that are vying to fill in. One of the untold stories from last season is we used four catchers and all four of them helped us win. Some of that was due to health. Some of it was due to the catchers that came up from the minor leagues doing their job when they were asked. So, we've got to keep Gattis healthy, but that will still include some catching.

Not a Stros fan but didn’t want to make a separate thread

Do you have to have a mlb.tv subscription to stream spring training games?

I may go to that San Fran game as well. I can go to the Oakland games but would much rather watch a game at San Fran.

We thought about catching the Dodger series and then heading to San Fran, but I think my wife would kill me.

No farting around this year fellas... y'all need to commit to a DAT WS away game attendance.

I've already bought my Milwaukee plane tickets for October.

Astros in 5...

Astros will have 3 WS rings before Arlington wins another playoff series.

I plan on going to opening day and ring day at Minute Maid. Trying to also make the White Sox series in Chicago with many more home games as well.
