Boy it would have been huge to get a sweep this weekend. Losing Friday (and all those other losses against the fricking Rangers) is the difference between a 2.5 game deficit or a .5 game deficit today. That makes it pretty tough on us. Special shout out to Pat Neshek for the 2 games he blew on this home stand. Those 2 losses are a mother fricker right now.

If we went say 5-1 on this trip, that puts us at 87-75.

If the Rangers take 2/3 from Detroit and Split the 4 game against LA, that puts them at 88-74.

I kind of see that as the best we'll get from the Tigers and Angels this next week. Detroit has totally checked out of giving a frick and the Angels are a total crapshoot. Maybe they'll play well, maybe they won't. Who fricking knows.

5 out of 6 should be the goal at this point, but can we count on Kazmir to win his game?

Gotta take em one at a time.

We need a solid start out of LMJ tomorrow. At least 7 innings.

That pretty much depends entirely on how the Astros play in the next series

If weve still got a shot at the division by some miracle, go Angels. If not, hold your nose and pull for Texas to get them off our arse.

Either way, the Astros need to just refuse to die and take care of their part.

I just realized that our rotation sets up so that Keuchel and Jabroni will not be among the rested options for a Wild Card game, as of right now.

Wish we'd pitch Dallas on Friday. Then could atleast start a wild card game on Tuesday

And I know it's thinking way too far ahead but just for the fun of it, in that scenario, it would mean Keuchel pitches game 3 of ALDS at home

On the bright side... neither are Tanaka and Pineda.

But the Yankees are not going to throw them this weekend when the Wild Card is locked up. Tanaka probably won't pitch until the WC game as it is with his latest injury problem.

With the Kid, there is a chance we could hold him to Tuesday if we have a great series in SEA while the Angels/Twins falter a bit. We could conceivably have the WC locked up (highly unlikely) or have two games to win just one by the time we reach Saturday (unlikely with our road woes but not impossible).

Let's say we go 3-1 through Friday while the Angels go 2-3 and the Twins go 3-2. All we would need is one win or a loss each by those two teams. We could hold Keuchel to Sunday and throw him if needed or have him fresh for the WC game.

Good point. That would be awesome to have the option to move Keuchel around. Hopefully Gomez comes back hitting so they can get Lowrie out of the cleanup spot.

Lowrie may not play much this week. Seattle is starting three lefties so we may see Marwin and Carter (unreal that it is actually a good idea at this point) on the corners.

We could definitely use Gomez against the LHPs as well.
