Even if he struggles, he will be better than the cadavers currently at first base.

Exactly, Singleton will take his lumps and get better.
Carter/Krauss/Guzman taken theirs lumps and still suck.

2016 is the year. Springer will just about hit his prime. Singleton will be clsoe to prime with 2 years under his belt. Correa, Tucker and Folty should all be up. hopefully a free agent or two to round things out.

You're forgetting about Santana.

I'm not as bonko over him as some are. not saying he won't make it and I hope he does. Will be interesting to see if the Astros start selling some of their org depth next year

Went with the family to our first game of the year yesterday. I must say the attendance was absolutely pathetic. Im not exaggerating when i say there were more cheers for when Baltimore scored. I witnessed this also last year when I went to the Detroit series, but of course I was pulling for Detroit anyways. Springer definitely brings some excitement to the game. He brings a spark to the team. I dont know anything about Singleton but hopefully he does the same and the Stros continue to get better.

Santana is better than Tucker too IMO

Santana is sooooo young for AAA and flat out rakes. He has a cannon for an arm and is a good athlete for his size. I just don't see how he has any detractors. The one knock on him was strikeouts, but he's cut down on those too. Sooon AL...sooon.

Agreed. De shields would be better than cartrr.

This is what I'm interested in. With a glut of similarly talented, similarly aged starting pitchers, it would be ideal to package a few together for an impact bat or two.

I'm still interested if they'd be interested in signing Cruz as a DH

Should have signed him this year.

@BudNorris25: Sorry but this Singleton deal is terrible. Wish the Jon listened to the union and not his agent.
Someone tell Bud to worry about his own team.

Or the Jon could think for himself and sign a deal that he's happy with.
