NORRIS is making an arse of himself. He may have an occasional point but he looks like a whiny arse.

It is an interesting concept. Springer bet on himself and looks to have made a good decision so far...singleton bought a nice insurance policy that will cost him millions and millions if he turns out to even be above average...on the other hand if he sucks he has ten mill no matter what

Yeah I don't get what the big deal is.

We gave a 22 year old 10 million guaranteed--WITH a reputation for recreational drug abuse, and coming off of a bad year.

He was in no place to negotiate more money.

Bud Norris sure is butthurt about the Houston FO. I'm curious why Singleton should have been called up MONTHS ago. Was it getting a 50 game suspension and subsequently hitting .230 last year? Astros guaranteed financial security ($10 million) to a guy who has failed multiple drug tests and admitted he is addicted to weed. I know I'm blinded by my fanhood but this looks like a win/win to me. Singleton can earn $30 million by age 30 and get a big payday if he's producing. Bud needs to worry about that 4.35 career ERA, not the Astros front office dealings.

Can we take a minute to give Ed Wade props on the Pence trade? What a trade rape

Pence for 4 eventual major leaguers

Cosart - While a mega douche, he's a big piece moving forward

Zeid - Decent pen piece

Singleton - Centerpiece and hoping cornerstone with Springer/Altuve moving forward

Santana - RF of the future, 30 HR potential

If our lineup was:

C Castro
1B Singleton
2B Altuve
3B Matty D
SS Villar
LF Santana
CF Fowler
RF Springer
DH Carter/Guzman

I think I could live with that

As a Cubs fan I have to give the Astros props for being forward thinking and no longer looking like a punchline. Good for Astros fans.

I also very much positive the Singleton contract, for the Astros and overall for baseball. It might not be 100% great for Singleton, but he does get some protection in guaranteed money in case he flames out.

I'd actually enjoy being in the NL central again now.

Our DH hits about as good as a pitcher so we'd fit right back in.

1/2 of that glaring weakness is still on the team.
