Per the New York Post.

LINK

quote:

Revis is seeking a contract similar to or “just north of’’ the deal the Bills gave defensive end Mario Williams — six years, $96 million with $50 million guaranteed. That is the largest contract for a defensive player in NFL history.

Whoever signs him will be fricked by the cap for a few years, that is an outrageous deal.

Brees' contract is 100M with 60 or so guaranteed and Revis wants that kind of money? Bitch please.

In all sincerity, frick THAT DUDE. Every single year he wants to hold out and wants more money. Now he wants to be the highest paid player ever coming off of a knee injury?

No CB in the passing era should be the highest paid defensive player. He can only cover one guy at a time. The impact on every play is just not there as opposed to an elite DL/pass rusher.

Not happening for a CB. He should ask to be the highest paid CB ever....way more reasonable.

Asomugha makes a frick ton...I don't even think that is reasonable....12 or 13 million dollars a year for a dude coming off reconstructive knee surgery that does nothing but bitch? No thanks.

Now you know why the owner said he'll entertain offers to trade Revis. way too much of a headache for a guy coming off major knee surgery.

are there any stats out there that prove he's the top corner in the league? because from everything i've seen he's great, but not the best.

Who is better than a healthy Revis? I hate his tactics, but he's the best corner in the league. The Jets are shite without him and a playoff team with him.

There's been some OL and DL turnover too since those playoff teams..it's not all Revis Isle.

i could argue that PP has a greater value to his team because of his special teams ability.

as far as just pure corner goes, his Jets counterpart could have a pretty good say.

eta: Interesting article on the top corners
