Attendance dropped off big time at Maryland, but there isn't 5000 people in the stadium in the pics you posted. That isn't quite the reality.

No they had more the 5K, the question is did they have more than 10K?

The listed attendance for last Saturday's Boston College-Maryland game was 29,945. The Washington Post's Eric Prisbell wrote that there "appeared to be no more than 10,000 fans at Byrd Stadium." But after looking at these photos from the Nat Enquirer, 10,000 might have been extremely generous.

Terp football is at an all-time low. Nobody wanted edsal in the first place. Once rumors of leech surfaced that he was interested n the job hats all we wanted. We felt like a red headed step child when it came to dsal. He is crap.

24 athletes is a ton to lose. frickin' start the rebuild ASAP without edsall.

and coached them up. Now he'll have access to higher caliber guys and probably higher character recruits as well

I don't see him beating V Tech, Virgina, PSU, Bama, etc. for recruits. He might be in a better situation geographically, but now he's going up against high caliber teams.

Edsall is a Goo d coach, and the Terps will win games if they give him a chance. I just don't know where his ceiling is. UConn fans felt that he was maxed out winning 8-9 games, and that he'd never get them that 11 or 12 win season. Not even a minor upgrade over Fridge if that is the case.

Tiggah - where in Jax are you? In Atlantic Beach/Neptune here.

I think Edsall is the anti-Friedgen. Say what you want about the big guy, but to fire him after a bowl bid and being named ACC coach of the year with O'Brien the Freshman of the year.... UMd deserves whatever befalls them.

I'd be very curious what the team would be like if Locksley had been fired a year earlier and brought in to replace Franklin. That loose cannon can recruit like a mo fo. Edsall is gonna reap the benefits of his connections in the DCIAA

Add in that he immediately alienated a couple of the top area High Schools, and you really have a bad situation. Maryland typically did very well at DeMatha HS, but lost 2 4 star recruits from there (Michael Moore and Brent Wilkerson) this year. Edsall made almost no attempt to get them either. Maryland landed 2 of the top 11 in-state prospects this year.

you do realize Locksley is his OC now and one of the top recruiters in the nation. They will build a fence around the DC area. They got some top DC area player like Reid and Brown two stud RB's and also landed Diggs who was a top 15 player in the country

he will now with his new OC/recruiting coordinator

the three main schools who compete with Maryland in that area are wvu,vt and psu and guys they usually have a good chance at getting didn't happen this year

Edsall won't last after this year. You can't alienate recruits, much less your own players.

Hiring Locksley makes that moot. Locksley OWNS DCIAA recruiting.

So basically, you guys are pissed and throwing temper tantrums because you didn't get the guy you wanted and will do what you can to get rid of a guy after one year?

24 punk arse kids that didn't fit. So what? I hope he wins 7 games this year and stays there for 10 years with that attitude.

Nobody will win 11 or 12 games at UConn. The recruiting grounds suck and you're just not going to lure kids to play football to UConn. Just not going to happen.

That's why I think Edsall done such a good job with what he had there.

You have a terrible, shitty attitude and it looks like it stems from Maryland not hiring Leach.

How childish.

Didn't Kevin Plank (Under Armour founder and Maryland alum/letterman) offer to buy Edsell's contract out?

I'm sure it's all message board fodder.

This is RichRod v.2.

Because the fans didn't get who THEY wanted and he run POS kids off the team, everyone is unhappy.

If he gets run off, he'll land somewhere else. The guy is a good coach.

It was reported here on local radio that Edsall has refused to let O'Brien transfer to Vandy.

Kragthorpe did the same thing at Louisville. If a kid doesn't think he fits in the system, he doesn't. Oil and water doesn't mix.

This is really the example you want to use to prove Edsall is handling the situation well?

Just like Greg Schiano had such a great year couple years back and where's he at now?

Edsall might be a good coach, but I don't see him winning shite in the ACC. JMO

Maybe not, but if a school (any school in the country) is winning 8 games a year, I think the fans and administration have a right to expect 10-11 win seasons every once in a while. Do you expect fans of the school t ojust accept that they'll never win more than 8 games? Besides, they play in the Big East. If Rutgers and Cincinnati can have an 11 win season, UConn can.
