Dallas Mavericks Reportedly “Gauging the Market” for Dennis Smith Jr.

Forbes
Per Marc Stein
Crazy scenarios coming up such as sending him to the spurs as a part of a package for DeRozan.
Add the fact that Wes Mathews is already an extremely attractive contract for trades... this Mavericks team could look very different by the end of the year as they push to see the playoffs for the first time in a number of years.

Has he been that bad or does he just not fit with their team? Don't follow the Mavs.

His game doesn’t mesh well with the rookies
I think a trade straight up with the hornets for Malik monk would do wonders for both teams

DSJ has to have the ball in his hands to be successful and doesn't really provide anything off of the ball where he would be playing the rest of his career next to Luka.

Had a great rookie season, just doesn’t fit with Luka Doncic well schematically.

Figured it had to be something along those lines.

Would love for the pels to jump on this even though we have basically nothing of substance to trade. I doubt they'd trade him within the division though.
We could use anyone that can put the ball in the basket.

He was one of the worst players in the whole league. do you know how hard it is to have a minus win share?

This. Better to trade him now while that potential is still there than try to make things work, and I love the guy

He's like a poor man's Luka, a guy who needs to have high usage to succeed.
I like DSJ's potential, but right now he produces numbers without a positive effect on the team. His shooting is improving, but his D is still shaky and his assist to TO ratio is bad for a ball dominant guy.

This is an interesting development.

Would be good for the mavs.

Would they be interested in Dorian Finney-Smith as well? Maybe Devin Harris?

Pels could put a package together for Smith probably, but I don’t think the juice is worth the squeeze here with Demps and Gentry trying to keep their jobs.
Watching non Pels games always reminds me what they’re missing. Watching Irving close games for Boston is flat earth shattering stuff compared to what the Pels do at the end of games.

I am for this. I’m more interested in that Forbes is linking sports stories?

Why don't you go back to making predictions for the Rockets team you somehow never seem to watch instead of talking about Mavs players you've maybe seen play 4 or 5 times?
