he was really interesting as a rookie and then had a rough year last year but was clearly playing hurt. he has the archetype of a true 3 and D kind of guard. its just trying to figure out which version is real. if hes really what his rookie self and returns to that level of shooting as he heals than he is a real interesting piece of the puzzle going forward. if he doesnt? then hes an interesting bench piece with potential on defense

2nd round pick as well so very favorable contract

this deal make no sense unless pels favor lavine over BI

Griffin would lose a lot of my respect then as an evaluator

Why would the Bulls do that?

I'd 100% do that if I was the Bulls.

Lavine is a ball-dominant gunner. Lonzo, the #4 and an expiring is a good deal for him.

I mean, Lavine is ok, but Lonzo is ok and you get the 4 and cap flexibility.

The Bulls aren't really going anywhere soon. Having Hill's deal isn't that bad.

I agree that I don't understand at all why NO would be higher on Lavine than Ingram. I posted the other day that a gunner like Lavine who's never averaged 5 apg would be the last guy I'd want alongside Zion.

why would LAL keep him if they're getting AD to pair with LBJ? trade asset in isolation?

By far the highest ceiling of Lakers in trade discussions. Ingram really broke out post allstar break, so I'm sure the hope is he can continue.

I'm not sure he's 100% the best fit, but for a 21 year old with high upside, I'd want to give him a chance to figure it out.

ingram has proven himself to be surprisingly effective as a point guard. now, hes not a great playmaker. but if you get him out on the perimeter with the ball in one on one situations, he eats whomever is guarding him. he was in the 90+ percentile this past year in those situations. i think thats a valuable piece to pair with people like lebron or AD who will be taking doubles

anyway, i doubt theres any scenario where BI is still on the team next year if the lakers acquire AD

That's the sort of role he could work into, PG.

Last year, you had Ingram, Ball, LeBron, Rondo, etc. who were all comfortable initiating the offense. There were too many people.

If Lonzo goes and Rondo doesn't re-sign, the Lakers could let LeBron and Ingram be the two offensive initators, then just try to slot two 3 and D shooters alongside them and AD.

I'm not sure I'm as negative on BI staying, if only because I think the Lakers need a perimeter guy who can get his as LeBron ages. Otherwise, LeBron has to carry a ton of the load as he's approaching 20 years in the league.

avg defense...
meh player ...

kuz also can't play defense worth a damn although he have a great contract why would you want to build around Zion with that?
