No no… I understand how the schools were split.. I just don’t understand why they chose to call it select/nonselect

Just doesn’t make sense to me

yes, West Monroe is not in the top 25. They're #28 right now

The next 3 weeks WM has Ouachita, ASH, and Ruston. Could end up a top 4 seed with a bye or out of the playoffs completely.

Their schedule over the last few weeks has me concerned. Granted, it was somewhat out of their control, but they haven't had to play many 4 quarter games. And unfortunately, the mystique is no longer there (except for with Ruston; they still can't beat us).

It doesn’t make sense to you why they call a school with selective admission a select school and a school that doesn’t have selective admission a non-select school?

That's like 6 this year. LHSAA needs to start pulling home games for schools that have this happen. I know 2 of them were on the visitors side. This is long since out of control

Well this one was different… Carroll coaches were in the Franklin Parish press box and there were complaints about them cursing and deputies tried to kick them out and they weren’t having that

Are these “ratings” or rankings? I do t see UHS in the list. I know they lost to Catholic , who is probably a top 3 overall team in the state, in a somewhat close game, and then two last minute losses to Rummel (top 10 in the highest classification) and Madison Prep (top 10 in their division) both in the last minute of regulation after leading most of the game. Seems like the teams they are paired up with now for this round of playoffs would traditionally be a level below them. Maybe they wouldn’t be top 1-3 in this new division, but I can’t imagine them not being in the top 10 overall of this new classification.

Why is there so much love for a team that has never won anything in the history of it’s program on this board?

We loved the Saints for decades before they won anything.

Chalmette has a unique set up in the NOLA area being the only public high school in its parish. So there’s a tight link between the school and the community… more like what you find in small towns.

Power rankings formula. I'm pretty sure everyone who knows anything thinks UHS is at a minimum top five in division 3, however I don't think they are as strong as they were the previous couple of years.

Apparently this happened(minus the fighting)at Sterlington as well. The Carroll fans are saying they removed them bc they couldn’t handle an all black school beating them and then fail to acknowledge that Franklin Parish HS is a predominantly black school/football team.

They said the coaches were leaving the box and that the FP Sheriff slammed a coach or grabbed him by the neck or something and the FP fans are saying it started bc the coaches wouldn’t leave like they were asked to. I wasn’t there or at Sterlington so I don’t know what happened at either location and I doubt we’ll ever get an actual answer.

1970 was when integration happened… We chose to be in it… we didn’t want the black teams in our parish then and the Catholic League teams drew more fans.

This was when the Catholic League was still somewhat neighborhood schools and we were all-boys with what would have been an even higher enrollment than we have now (in the early 70s we were like 1,800 all boys, that would be 3,600, way bigger than any current school). Now they all have kids from all over and obviously we can’t, hence that most are now borderline 4A/5A enrollment yet are still the top teams in the state

FUN FACT: our girls back then at Andrew Jackson dominated in volleyball and softball. Obviously this was before girl’s sports got really big and there was no Mount Carmel or Dominican in the LHSAA then.

Biggest week of the season in 5-5A. Denham and EA facing off tonight, both 2-0 in district play, and looking to have control of 1st place in the district. Dutchtown facing off against St. Amant tonight. Dutchtown has been a completely different team, after starting 0-2 and having no signs of an offense. They’ve won 4 straight and are looking to get ahead of the loser of tonight’s EA-Denham game in the district standings. Both games will be live-streamed tonight, courtesy of Rev Sports.
