and the Brewers have been whipping the Cubs tails for the past 4 years.

And this is what they have to show for it

Great job by the bullpen 5 scoreless innings in the dub to nullify the series and leave Chicago with a 7 game lead in the division!

And great job by my Cubbies doing what they do best the last two months, stranding runners in scoring position pretty much every inning yesterday.

For the Cubs to make a shot at the division, they need at least 3 wins here.

Agree.

But you need to hope on a Wild Card Spot, not a Division.

Nullify the series? Cubs came in scuffling while the Brewers were on an all-time heater and they just proved they are still better than the Brewers by beating them in a 5 game series.

lol i think brewers are super vulnerable going into playoffs, they are up to high, their low is coming, could come at the wrong time.

So impactful, they cut an 8 game lead to 7

Have they?

Past 4 season series:

2022: 10-9 Cubs
2023: 7-6 Brewers
2024: 8-5 Brewers
2025: 7-6 Cubs

I'm no math major but I'm pretty sure that indicates the Cubs have taken two season series and the Brewers have also taken two. I'm also pretty sure that the overall record the past 4 seasons is Brewers 30, Cubs 28. So in your world that constitutes "whipping the Cubs tails for the past 4 years"?

He may be referring to in the standings, which they have beaten us, and as I Cub fan I use the fan "us" here - the last 4 years.

However, I don't think this division race is over. Brew Crew played way above their heads for a prolonged stretch and that seems to be ending while Tucker after rolling over on grounders to the right side for 7 straight weeks looks to finally be hitting again.....stay tuned.

Cubs have the second easiest remaining schedule in the MLB.

Five games in 28 days is certainly doable. Brewers are not playing great right now.

Will be a fun race.
