reff blew the whistle with 1 second left.

0.1 is what was left when they stopped the clock

from nola.com
quote:

Albany fouled Carmouche of McMain with 0.1 sec left in the game and McMain up by 1 point. Number 20 of McMain pulled his jersey over his head celebrating the victory and got the technical foul. So Carmouche of McMain still got to shoot two free throws up one, and he missed them both. Then Albany got to shoot the technical free throws and hit one of two thus sending the game into overtime. Now if Carmouche of McMain would have hit his free throws we wouldn't be talking bout this and Mcmain would have won.

there is nothing to protest

Right, there is nothing to protest. The refs did what the rule says, but sometimes as a ref you cant let something like that decide the game.

If i were a ref, i dont think i would have the nuts to give a T for that

1) was the player from Mcmain in the game or on the bench when this happened?

2) when you say he "attempts to remove it (his jersey)" what do you mean? was he on the court trying to take his jersey off?

3) had Mcmain been warned about the jerseys coming untucked before?

1)In the game
2)Yes, he was on the court, untucked his jersey, and started to pull it up over his head.
3)To my understanding, they hadn't been warned

I've heard everything from "he was wiping his face with his jersey" to "he was lifting it above his head and spinning it around." Which make it difficult.

If it was the first thing, then that ref should never be allowed to officiate again because that's clearly bullshite.

If it was the second, the T was warranted because you cant pull a D2 striptease in the middle of the court.

He definetly wasn't wiping his face with his jersey. He emphatically ripped his jersey out of his shorts and pulled it up over his head while he was celebrating going down the court. This wasn't just a casual "wipe my face" with my jersey. He was celebrating his teams apparent win. The game was a battle til the end in which neither team led more than 5 pts the entire game. I guess his emotion just got the best of him. But the referee still should have used better judgement

Thats why I was asking if they could protest. Every time I seen this happen, the person and coach was warned first.

Part of the pregame talk w/ coaches at halfcourt and captains at half court say "Make sure your players keep all their shirts tucked in at all times" That's considered the initial warning.

BUMP

the crew for this game was from Lafayette. I know all three of them and the reff that called the technical said that the kid from McMain pulled his jersey over his head and he wasn't wearing an undershirt. So he was walking around with his jersey pulled over his head and his bare torso.

no judgment there, it is a clearcut violation of a rule in the rule book and had to be called

Wayne Trace was playing Van Wert. Both teams were pretty good at the time(High School teams in Northwest Ohio).

This may have happened vise-versa, but..

Wayne Trace gets a crapapy foul and makes 2 free-throws to go up a point with only .2 seconds left on the clock. Games over, right?
On the imbound, all of the Van Wert team scrambles down to the opposite basket and the guy just tosses it all the way down to the hoop. A Van Wert player tips the ball off the glass and it banks in. Buzzer goes off and Van Wert wins by a point.
