6’8” dude dropped 52 points (with crazy FG and FT % and some 3s) with 12 rebounds in 16U EYBL this past weekend… he’s expected to be a top pick in the NBA draft when it’s his time

Smart to transfer to Montverde. Staying in Maine wasn't gonna help.

He needs to be playing 17u not 16u if he’s #1 in his class

In normal AAU yes. In EYBL? There's no need. The top talent is in that league.

bump... he did reclassify about a week ago

quote:

Duke has long been considered the favorite for Flagg and hosted him for an unofficial visit earlier this month, but will face competition in his recruitment. UConn was a staple at Flagg's games in July, while Kansas and Kentucky are also involved.

Flagg's reclassification, which had been expected for several months, puts him in position to potentially be selected No. 1 overall in the 2025 draft. He will turn 18 in late December of his freshman year of college, putting him just inside the cutoff date to declare for the draft.

I can tell you that no Kansas fans think Flagg is ending up at KU. He's a Duke kid. The only way that changes is if the NBA changes the draft-eligible age.

When did a white American last go first overall in the NBA Draft? The 70s?

He has completely dominated every all-star competition against top recruits he has been in.

He seems pretty damn good.

Kent Benson 1977. They totally blew that pick. 3 all NBAers went in the next 4 picks and two HOFers later in the top 10.

Benson's biggest NBA accomplishment came in his first NBA game. He got Kareem Abdul Jabbar to punch him, breaking Jabbar's hand.

Bates' projection had already started to tail off by his junior year. He's a volume scorer that can't really shoot with no other skills. Bates might have a 17 rebound, 8 steal, 4 block game against 6th graders. Flagg did it in the FIBA final.
