Coleman was better than Gordon, Cook, Chubb, and Fournette last year.

This thread makes me lol. You know your guy is the best when people are trying to convince you some lesser player is actually better.

This gets mentioned on game day this morning and miraculously you had the same thought after gameday.

For what Coleman had to work with and do for IU it's an argument that's very easy to make.

But since he played at IU you just shite on him.

Dude ran for 2K with a QB that couldn't throw in an Air Raid offense and was IU's only hope after Sudfeld got hurt.

Cook is really 6'0" 203. Seems a little scrawny for a rb. Good enough size for cfb though.

If he didn't have that hamstring injury he'd have better #s than Fournette

I posted this in the thread Saturday after Cook's game but before LSU played UF. Don't feel like updating it, but you get the idea.

I actually think if you put a gun to me I'd take Fournette. As people saw, I said he 'might' be better.

It's just absurd listening to LSU fans say there's no chance they're even close.

To say that "it isn't close" is absurd, but going off of this year only, Fournette has established himself as the better back IMO.

As far as usage, Cook has 88 of the 177 rush attempts for FSU - 49.7%. Fournette has 119 of 241 - 49.4%. Cook only had 2 carries in the WF game because of the injury, so it is safe to assume that Cook gets a slightly heavy share of the carries than Fournette when healthy.

Additionally, despite the injury in the WF game, his two carries provided a tremendous boost to his YPA #s. One carry went for 0 yards, the other went for 94 and a TD. Coming out after that performance is going to have a significant impact on his YPA numbers. Also, while hardly better than average, Everett Golson has provided enough relief in the passing game to keep FSU more balanced than LSU.

Lastly, Cook had 15 for 54 yds against Boston College earlier this year. That is 3.6 per carry, and outside of a 28 yard rush, his 14 for 26 day is pretty shitty at 1.9 YPC. Granted, I know you can't remove the 94-yarder against WF or the long rush against BC, but if you did the same for Fournette against South Carolina, he still had 19 for 71, or 3.7 YPC.

We'll know more about how they stack up when FSU plays Syracuse and UF down the road. It won't be the end all, be all, but it will be nice to see them against common opponents.

You realized that LSU had a game cancelled right?

If Fournette hadn't had one game cancelled and actually played in the 4th quarter of games....
