You should if since 11-5 would likely mean they’re the 5 seed and Mahomes would definitely not win at that point.

If it were all about stats, Brees would have won in 2009, 2011 especially, 2012, 2013...you see my point. Name brand and team success matter for this award, it’s been proven time and again.

Mahomes looks like he could be a great QB for the next decade+ in this league. Maybe not...so have countless others over the years. Brees is a proven commodity and at legend status at this point. He’s a first ballot HoFer. That’s going to play in voters minds in addition to all the other factors. Like Brees actually leading his team to beat, not lose to, good competition.

He was the best QB on the field, flip the D’s and KC wins by 14 points.

Can you imagine Mahomes throwing against that Chiefs secondary for 60 minutes..., 40 points? 50 points? Who would be surprised?
