Wearing white socks with pants. Like that really matters.

Wearing ankle socks at PE. Nope. Those are inappropriate, they have to be mid calf.

Not being able to show up to school in PE clothes if you have PE 1st period. Only to have to change and waste 10 minutes.

Stuff must have changed since I was there. We could do all of this stuff.

Surprised there are so many people defending how over-the-top Catholic was though. As you mentioned, they definitely have some very good principles and values but they needa get over themselves sometimes.

O and I don't get the love for Brando in this thread. I'm older so only had him for one year but I thought he was pretty cheesy and seemed to breed the "we're better than everyone else" attitude. I had Barry for a class and thought he was great. From everything I've heard, he's done great things.

Most of what I have heard about Brando is from other staff, parents, etc from when my cousins were at CHS.

I had Brother Barry for Civics and it was probably my most enjoyable class in the four years I was there.

He was a douche when I had him, so much so that I'm glad this is my 1000th post. It sounds like he hasn't changed.

I always liked Brandao, and I thought Cafferel (sp?) was less harsh than LeBlanc was.

Did he still use the squirt guns and ducktape people to their desks?

Brandao was a great administrator and I always liked him. He was principal all four of my years. Bro. Barry was also my civics teacher, and it was enjoyable.

It has been awhile since I took that class, but I remember him playing jokes on the class.

He used a rubber chicken a lot.

Do I know you... I think you may have been in my grade at Catholic from reading your posts.

I am glad to see Catholic finally beat West Monroe in something.

Brando was much more personable. He took the time to remember everyones names, and would take the time to call you when it was your birthday, even if it was the summer. The school lost a lot when Brando dipped out.

I know a number of students and parents that thought Br.Barry was very cold and not really a peoples person. He had his favorites and it was quite obvious. Good principal, great person, but brando was alot better.

Brando made you feel like you were apart of a family, and some of that was lost when he left.

You just hit the nail on the head. Everything you just said is basically why Brando was better than Bro. Barry. I think Barry tried to keep some of the Brando traditions, but it was forced and just didn't have the same feeling.

I had forgotten about Brother Barry's favoritism until you just brought that up. So true.

Catholic's got a great core group of baseball players coming back next year, and the current sophomore class is really talented. So I'd expect more hardware if Achord stays.

Props to Dutchtown. They played a good game and are incredibly young - starting several freshman. Looks like Catholic and Dutchtown will be meeting at future state tourneys.

BTW, it's ashamed Dutchtown is in the district with "river" schools like Destrehan, Hahnville, ESJ. They are geographically in BR and it would cultivate rivalries and more interest.

They probably agree, since they can't win football games down here!

I hope a private school beats a public school in ACT scores.
