The only reason to go on a trip with a bunch of buddies for spring break is to get completely shite faced...unless you're going for the art exhibits and cultural experience Would never let my high school kid go on a spring break trip (without me!)

What an awful way to die.

The wierd thing for me is that this past week in my Criminal Justice class we were studying crimes/accidents that happen on Spring Break.

And it just so happens we studied Balcony jumping tragedies for an entire class. I didn't buy that people actually did it. Just stupid

the parents HAD to know this, and sanctioned it by letting the kid go in the first place.

if any parent doesn't think their h.s. has tried alcohol they are in denial. That's a fact. It doesn't matter if they have ever gone away on a trip with out you or not.

Like I mentioned, most people I know on SB went with parents. Only a few didn't, but I don't see anything wrong with it. If you're afraid of them getting wasted, better not let them go to college. JMO.

And, anyway once again, unless I just overlooked it, I didn't see anything that said his parents weren't there.

Different animals regarding college where you live And the the priority is school and a destination with a bunch of high schoolers who most likely don't know their surroundings and their own limits.

Folks please watch what you say & write. They are friends of my family that are greiving. Back-off the smart arse remarks & judgements. A young life is lost and parents are devastated.

Matt James was a fine young man.

He was a teammate and classmate of my son.

We are friends of the family & have known Matt for years.

RIP #78.

Prayers to Jerry & Peggy, his parents.
