The Texas Athletic Department doesn't nor does the school.... but I do have a good story for you that incriminates both A&M and Texas boosters in the recruitment of 3 different players from a High School that sits on Hwy 290, and another recruit from 2005. This isn't 2nd hand information either. I saw what happened. If you think Texas boosters don't pay good money for recruits these days, well you're just ignorant. It still goes on amongst the big schools, and Texas is an offender in this department as well.

Ball Gravy, here is why I don't believe you. There are a handful of school I can't stand (A&M, OU, OSU, Nebraska, Arkansas) and if I saw first hand something go down at one of those schools (like you imply) or if I had proof, I would report it. I really would.

I doubt you reported these incidents about which you claim to have thorough first hand knowledge. Why this benevolence on your part for the University of Texas?

Why is it so hard for you to believe that if I had first hand knowledge or some other proof of A&M or OU cheating that I would report it? I would.

Why isn't Ball Gravy reporting the cheating he claims to have witnessed Texas undertake? Why the sudden love for the Longhorns?

Are you talking about Sergio? If so, I said publicly that he should have been kicked off of the team. Mack made a big mistake. By the way, "hit & run" usually means hitting a person or an occupied car. Sergio was 'texting' and drove in to a building. Since he abandoned the scene, there is no 'proof' he was drunk but with everything else we know about him, of course he was drunk.

The argument can be made that Mack's hands were tied to a degree. The was no evidence to prove Sergio had been drinking and the cops made no charge related to this. I don't know........but Mack should have made a stronger statement with his punishment at the very least.

well i do give you credit, honestly, for not being a total hack. many UTards won't admit he was drunk

If Mack had taken a stand against Sergio's drinking and would have kicked him off the team, he may not have been a 2nd round pick BUT it might have been the wake up call Sergio needed so that he didn't have the incident where he got drunk and fell down the stairs and hurt himself to the point that he may never play in the NFL.

Wow.

It seems like him and Cam Newton might have careers in demolition derby if their pro careers don't work out.

a) No love for the Whorns here

b) A&M has committed the same offense

c) There is no paper trail for either school.... how are you going to prove it without the kid or the kids family speaking

You can't honestly sit here and tell me you don't think Texas boosters play the game as well. Either you really have no idea what goes on in the higher dollar circles or you are one of those who plays the head in the sand deal.

When I say everyone does it, or attempts to, I mean it. Texas, A&M, OU, Tech, Baylor, LSU, EVERYONE!

Some are just greater offenders. A&M doesn't do it much anymore, but when it warrants it, I know its done.

You and I could sit down over several beers and I could talk to you about many private conversations I've had with large Texas and A&M donors. I was in one of your new suites in the north end zone this past Thanksgiving with one of your larger net worth donors who is a very successful litigator in Austin.

I'm by no means an expert or an 'insider' but I do have some perspective. My high school in Sugar Land was a pipeline to Colorado and I played ball with guys who went on recruiting trips there and elsewhere. They said they were given stuff by boosters and I believe them. One of my best friends in the world is a guy I worked with for years who played DB at Penn State. He told me about stuff he was given by boosters and I believe him. I know what happens.

Like I have said, I do believe that some small stuff happens at Texas. Dinners, drinks, etc. but, no, I don't believe that Texas boosters need to pay big $ to lure top recruits. It makes no sense. I just don't think Texas needs to take an unnecessary risk when Mack brings in plenty of top tier kids in a legit fashion.

Didn't he say A&M was included in these misdeeds? That might be why he would keep his mouth shut.
