People in Texas are just being friendly and they don't mean anything by it at all. They don't realize most of the time it is a violation. Texas is very clear with their players ... You cannot expect 19- to 20-year-old men to not accept free stuff while they're in college ... There's no way that college kids can really, honestly say no to all this stuff ... It's hard for a lot of these guys to even know ... I saw so many of his teammates who maybe didn't have some of that self-control to be able to say no to somebody. It's hard because you've got adults who you respect who you think will know what's right and what's wrong ... You do what adults say; that's how you're taught. So you have adults offering things, promising the world, doing all this stuff: we're taught to go along with that. That's the respectful thing to do. It's interesting to see adults really putting kids in these positions where they're taught to agree and go along and respect.
Well, well, well...... the beat goes on and on and on!

Exactly! I know for a fact that the same happens here at LSU. Anyone who says "no" is just either being naive or stupid.

The lead sentence is: "Rachel McCoy, wife of former Texas Longhorns QB Colt McCoy."
OP probably read it as: "Rachel McCoy, former wife of Texas Longhorns QB Colt McCoy"

yes, every school does do it.... However, Whorn fans will be the only set of fans to admit that they have never cheated and still don't.

I'm sure our players have done small things......let people buy them drinks, dinners, small crap like that.
Do I think for one second that Mack knows about violations and covers them up? No. Do I think that Texas knowingly plays ineligible players? No. Does Texas pay any amount of $ for recruits? No.
If that is proven to be untrue, I will be the first to call for the AD, Mack and everyone on the staff to be fired.

You really think the players don't get special treatment..... in Texas!

Meh, maybe Mack doesn't know. We can't prove it one way or another at this moment so I'll concede that.
I'd agree that most schools don't knowingly play ineligible players, so I'll agree with that. It's too easy to get caught doing this.
Does Texas pay any amount of $$ for recruits? No and Yes. The Texas Athletic Department doesn't nor does the school.... but I do have a good story for you that incriminates both A&M and Texas boosters in the recruitment of 3 different players from a High School that sits on Hwy 290, and another recruit from 2005. This isn't 2nd hand information either. I saw what happened. If you think Texas boosters don't pay good money for recruits these days, well you're just ignorant. It still goes on amongst the big schools, and Texas is an offender in this department as well.
Here's the kicker. Texas and A&M will never get caught because there is no trail, and I'll explain to you in personal email (if you'd like) why that is the way it is....
